Before I buy a Y board for my samsung tvi how do I check and make sure the panel isnt bad

The led ballast board may be bad....most likely.....

You either have a bad t-con board or the screen is bad. Check to make sure all the ribbon cables are seated fully and connected. Even replacement parts can be bad sometimes, new and used both.

usually with samsung tv's they use 10 volt capacitors on a 12 volt circuit board , most definatly one of the capacitors has bulged or popped on the power board if you do not know what a bulging capacitor looks like please google a pic of it then take the back of your tv and check the power board for bad capacitors

Make sure that you have good air circulation. Your vents are clean etc. If all of this checks out good are you buying generic lamps? If no then you might have a bad ballast. This is the small board that strikes the lamp.

U can't buy the T-CON board in any stores in anywhere in the world because this T-CON board it is not buy able it new u only can buy it as a salvage tv PCB board only.This T-CON board u can buy it as refurbish board only.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON board for the replacement.

Look for Bad capaciotrs on power supply board they will be vented or swollen on Top,
1000uf 16v 2200uf 10v 3300uf 10v

Check the TVI cable that houses the throttle cable. Underneath is a push-button that releases the cable HOUSING and allows you to move the TVI cable rearward until it stops. Then slowly advance the throttle to the full throttle position and you will hear the TVI cable ratchet a few clicks. This resets the shift point of the cable to factory specs. Interestingly enough, I could always tell when my son would hammer the throttle as I would have to go out and re-adjust the TVI cable as above.

Check the power supply printed circuit board as well as the projection set up(lamp,colour wheel,etc) to make sure that everything is working ok and isnt damaged. Also check that when the unit is turned on it is getting a voltage reading to the power supply printed circuit board to ensure the unit is either getting power or not getting power. Good Luck.

Have you ssen the back light lit up? If not, the power supply may have problem. If it has back light, then the suspection are the main board, T-con and inverter. Those boards need checked to find out exact defective board.

check the tvi cable under the hood, make sure there is no excess slack...make sure both ends are connected, the tvi cable is located right next to the throttle cable under the hood
