Question about RCA F32650 32" TV

1 Answer

My tv is making a chirping sound with no picture

I tried to turn the tv on with the remote and it didn't turn on and there was a chirping noise coming from the back. I can't turn in on by remote or manual, only by the plug and it makes a loud chirping noise as if was a alternator belt in a car engine off aline. Can any one tell me what the problem is?

I have the same problem, same TV. Is this coil soldered to the board? What color would it be?

Sure can as its the most common problem RCA ever had with their tv sets, besides the tuner sheild problem in the past.. Your problem maybe a small coil off the horizontal driver transformer and the other side going to the base of the horizontal output transistor, as the coil needs to be taken out and the leads scraped as at the factory the robot left too much enamial on the coil wire and it causes a bad connection. Problem 2 could be a shorted horizontal output transistor that is shorted and or the main high voltage tranformer/flyback. If you know how to work on tvs then all you gotta do is give the model or chassis # to the parts distributor and they will give a kit with alot of papers to read and follow as well as a small blue cap along with a new transformer and be sure you measure the horizontal output transistor out of the circuit as in circuit it will measure shorted because the horizontal drive transformer to the base of it. Now if your not a tech then your gonna want to take in this set to a pro but let me warn ya its gonna cost between $175.00 to $250.00 bucks to fix.. Good luck

No picture, no sound, just chirping noise coming from back

NO - - signal did nothing to the set... Sounds like a shorted HOT (horizontal output transistor) and the feedback your hearing (chirp) is on the horz. transformer as it tries repeatedly to startup... Don't allow it to do that for too long...

No picture or sound - TV makes chirping noise

The chirping sound is the power supply coming up then breaking down because there is a short somwhere in the high voltage. The most common fail in this area is the horizontal output is shorted ( 237470 ) but what cause this short could be simple cold solder joints or the High voltage transformer ( 239111 ) If you have noway to "ring" the flyback change both parts

TV wont come on

some electronic components inside your TV had shorted out! you might be hearing a slight CHIRPING! like the sound of crickets! or maybe whining! the sound migth be coming from the transformer/inductor with a shorted component on its output!

PT-43LC14 No Picture, chirping sound when turned on

Most of the time, when there is a chirping comming from a TV set, there is a short somewhere inside the TV set. That chirping noise is the TV's power supply starting up and shutting down because of a heavy load on the power supply. These sets have no user replaceable parts inside them, so play it safe, and call out a pro to assist you in this repair. good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread.
