When the machine is turned on it fills with water and then fails to go any further when you turn the cycle to spin there is no motor movement ive checked the brushes and they seem ok

on the motor there are what you call carbon brushes.. these wear out over time, this then the motor stop spining check and get back to me . cheers doc

the pressure switch tube will require a blow through,thats if the pumps ok and clean.or a freak happening would be a blocked waste pipe( i have seen this before after much head scratching!)

The motor might have burned out. Another possibility would be a partially fried control board.

SOURCE: Spin Cycle not functioning. I hear the motor running, but no spinning going on. Tank fills and emties, but not spin.

the belt may have broken, check under the machine

My Samsung 13kg model WA13R3Q3IW-XFA top loader fills with water, the timer runs down but does not turn to wash or spin but drains the water also. Have checked with another capacitor but still no turning....
So it runs a full cycle normally, but no movement? It can only be two or three things.

Broken wires.

Motor has failed.

Timer has failed. If it chimed as it went through the program and doesn't now, this would be the most likely. You can check the output to the motor with a meter.

I load washer it starts the wash cycle it goes through wash cycle fine drains water but does not collect water for rinse cycle it just idles. So I turn knob to spin and it spins until done.
If it doesn't fill for the rinse, I would say that the cold inlet valve has failed. Check that the cold tap is turned on and check when the machine fills for the wash cycle and see if it is taking hot or cold water. You will probably find that it is filling only with hot water. A local spares store should have the valve you need.

The washer drain the water if you put on spin. all electronically controlled washer won't unlock the door and or spin if there's water inside the water has to be drained out first.If the basket didn't move(no motor movement) and it finished the cycle, POSSIBLE problem is the motor control board. Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full
Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

H i there.....sounds like you've got either a failed water inlet valve....or a disconnected /ruptured capillary hose from the pressure switch to the tub....or a failed pressure switch........turn water to appliance off.....turn program selector to drain or drain /spin..is drain pump running...if not it may be blocked or burned out....or with machine empty of water.....turn program to spin....if no spin...check motor....

Washing machine will not spin
Hi, If this model has a belt, you might need to replace it. Once the belt gets wet, they are ruined. If the motor runs during the spin cycle and the tub does not turn, it is most likely the belt. If the motor is not running in the spin cycle, we need to look at other causes. If I can assist you further, please get me a model # so I can see exactly what washer you have.

Hi!

If the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Hi, If you have the washer in spin cycle, does the motor run? If the motor runs and you lift the lid, the motor should shut off. It sounds to me like you might have a coupler bad. It conects the motor to the transmission. It is a common problem.

WMA54 Hotpoint Aquarius drum does not turn during wash or spin
If the machine pumps water inside but does not start :

Start checking the lid switch, if this is stuck the machine wont start.

If the drum does not move at all, the motor, the motor control unit, the motor coupler, the control board may be faulty.

Drum not turning (WFL 2260)
possibly the belt is off/broken? can you hear the motor turning when the drum is supposed to be revolving? If not supect the motor carbon brushes, or some other fault with the motor/and /or circiut, at best it may be a burned out wire to the motor
