Convergence Oval colored circles at the bottom of the screen. Not sure what the voltages are supposed to be. In need of a service manual but so far no luck in finding one. Also if needed where can I get replacement boards. Crafty

There should be somewhere that list the info where to have it serviced or inqire about the set to find parts in your owners manual. Dont what you mean by oval circles at the bottom of screen. Has the set been moved around lately??

Fixing color convergence red and blue lines

most TVs have an adjustment for convergence in your on screen menu, go into convergence of service menu & try to adjust; it it is still too far out of convergence contact a service technician as convergence issues can be very difficult to resolve unless you are very sure of what you are doing.

Screen lookes like colores separating

Here's all I find regarding bad convergence from the techrepairCD:
RCA ~ITC222 D52W20~Convergence bad~~~ITC222~Replace leaky DL032 on
deflection board~~~~~~

RCA~D52W20Y ATC221~Convergence goes out/bowed after on for a few
minutes~~~ATC221~Problem may be on the deflection board. Was unable to
pinpoint where in this case.~~~~~~

RCA~D52W20BYX1 ITC222~Convergence way off after replacing small signal
board~EEPROMS were transferred over to new board~~~IK210 was
defective..transfer the new EEPROM back over.~Remember on these
sets*when replacing the SSB* if there is a small P on corner of
screen*hold volume on remote for 8 seconds after it reaches minimum.~~~~~

RCA~D52W20BYX1 ITC222~Can not align blue convergence* bottom really
bowed* possibly either color after replacing SSB.(Or no auto
convergence.~(Service menu: turn power off for 30 seconds* press vol dn
and ch dn* simultaneously for 8 seconds* set turns on with service menu
options)~~ITC222~In service menu* select convergence. If sensor
calibration was performed when convergence was too far off* it will not
alighn.~Get crosshatch with straight lines* perform sensor calibration*
then attempt convergence alignment again. Be sure to store settings*
then do sensor calibration again.~You must get a green flash of the
screen after sensor cal and a check in the box. RED flash indicated
convergence settings are too far off~~~~

Tv 100% have a convergence problems,if any parts of the tv picture colors lines R,G,B are mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?The tv convergence board the 2 STK ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.These parts on the tv convergence board,must be replaced to solved the tv pictures convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Hitachi 43FDX15B distorted picture. The top of screen displays a half circle cirle and the image is distorted within the half circle. The same at the bottom of the screen. The middle of the screen is fine....

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit from the link below.

Common Symptoms include....

Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.
TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com

Screen blury,very pink,green edging on picture almost colorless!

This would be a convergence issue you can run the convergence setup that is in your user manual if that does not work you are going to need service.

Pt-47wx49e convergence problem

I just replaced the 2 convergance chips, but it did not seem to fix the problem. I then tested all the resistors that feed the convergence chips anf there was a 2.2 ohm fusable blown. IT was R7050 on mine. That seemed to fix it so that I could adjust all the colors through the convergence 2 screen. There seems to be a slight bow near the bottom when you look at the c2 screen, but not noticable when you are watching a picture. Since I got this broken, I am not sure how perfect it should be.

If anyone can send me the service manual, I would appretiate it. Thanks.

Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Solution #1

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

The convergence Ics need replaced. In Hitachi, resistors and sometimes a coil needs replaced as well. The convergence/deflection PCB is available, but, the cost of that board is higher than having a servicer come to your home and repair the unit to component level. If you are not familar with this circuit, then call a servicer. Have them replace both ICs not just one. Make sure they are repairing to component level and not replacing the board. Hope this helps.
