I have a jvc kd-g310 cd player and the face plate just stop working and so I just detached it , but the housing unit still show's a little red light when car is turned on ? Can I just buy a faceplate replacement or best to just buy housing unit along with it and what's a compatilbe jvc faceplate if i just need to buy another faceplate???

I had this same problem and realized after reading the manual that this model does not play mp3's. They use the same manual for the g140 and the g240 (the model which plays mp3s).

have you pulled the deck and checked the built in fuse beside where wiring harness plugs in

Push in the select button and hold it for 3 seconds. scroll through the list using your next button for the radio on the bottom right hand corner. once it says Clock H you can turn the volume knob to set the hour. hit the next button again and it should say Clock M for minute and use the knob again.
