New Rechargable Batteries Die after A Couple of Pictures

The Kodak rechargable batteries dying very quickly so I baught a new set of rechargables and the problem continued. The low battery inicator comes on after about 10 pictures. Conventional batteries last about 5 pictures. The batteries seem to still be charged as they work in other devices fine. The batteries lasted much much longer when the camera was new. I thought that the batteries just needed replacing but the new ones do the same thing.

    Thank you Nightdiver!

I updated my firmware but unfortunately that did not fix the problem. I contacted Kodak and they said to send the camera in for repair.

Thanks again for taking a stab at the problem.

I bought C340 shortly before my wife and daughter went on a French class trip to Paris. They ran into the battery life problem while there and kept buying alkalines. They lost dozens of memories because this stupid camera would eat them in 10 photos or less. I doubt a dead short would drain the batteries faster. I did the firmware update and it did not fix the problem. Like Scorps1, I called Kodak and explained the situation. They also told me to send it in for repair/exchange. I declined. I also own a Kodak EasyShare DX7590, which I like a lot, but I doubt I will ever buy another Kodak camera again after the lemon I got and the lack of service I received. BTW, I was a Kodak employee for 19 years (until I got caught in one of their continuous layoffs.) I got no favors from Support for my time served. Maybe Support was outsorced....

This model is renowned for poor battery life. Some people say using the CRV3 battery lasts a lot longer but my advice is to buy NimH batteries with at least 2600mah. Some Nimh are only 700mah and obviously will last less than a third the time of a 2600. Keeping the use of the LCD to a minimum will increase battery life and using the flash puts a tremendous drain on the batteries so if you can do without the flash switch it off. Combine these tips with a set of 2600mah batteries and I'll guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised. As a sideline I always have a good laugh when I see an Olympics opening at night or a firework display and all you can see is thousands of flashes going off which the majority only reach about 12 feet maximum and the parade being shot is some 300 feet away. All batteries run out of power real quick. I can only shoot 20 pictures with a brand new set of batteries with my EX-FH20. Both alkaline and NIMH batteries die within minutes

What you need is HIGH RATING cells and so try and get NI-MH with rating over 2000mA or a higher grade along with a good rechargable unit and your cells will last longer than using low type cells.

My black 360 controller with a rechargable battery, has been having 4 major problems, 1. It started disconnecting while playing Halo Reach and after. 2. My controller was not able to charge any...

Rechargeable batteries will only hold so many charges before they finally die. The controller should be fine, but your battery pack has finally died. You can get new rechargeable packs on Amazon pretty cheap, but don't buy any that seem too good to be true (like the $0.01 ones) because they are old inventory and have lost the ability to charge as well.
I think they run about $15-$20 for a new one, but it's still a better deal than needing new batteries every time your controller dies since the rechargeable ones can last for at least a couple years.

My camera will not charge or turn on

Without more information I'd head straight for the batteries. Some cheap rechargeable batteries don't last long and if they are old they could get to the stage of dying. Something nimh Batteries do well is die very quickly. if they are reasonably new it's possible for just one cell to die which would stop current from flowing from the others. Try a new set of high drain alkaline camera batteries and try them. if all works normally then buy a couple of sets of rechargeables. Make sure they are good quality, not cheap and nasty.

I just put new batteries in my kodak easyshare c913 but will not turn on

Make sure you are using rechargable batteries. Normal batteries are not strong enough. Try using either rechargable Lithium Ion batteries, or rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries. These are much stronger and should give you a good battery life.
Let me know if this helps :)

Put brand new batteries in camera took three pic then they die

Hi, you will only solve this by buying the official KODAK battery (KLIC-8000) - NZD52.00 retail here in New Zealand. Even the generic CR3V rechargeable batteries dont work, so dont waste your $$ on them.
Even now, with the 'official' battery, when taking flash photos or zooming a lot, I find that it is only taking around 150 - 200 shots, when Kodak boast over 400.
But I must say the capabilities of the camera (esp the quality video) outstrip any annoyance battery wise.
Hope this helps, regards Wayne

Kodak easy share c 340

try taking out the batteries, and clean the connectors that the batteries touch, and the ends of the batteries (if recharagable). Sometimes a dirty connector can make the batteries seem that they are dead even if they are rechargable. If the camera works with new disposable batteries but not with the rechargable ones, then you may need to purchase some new rechargable ones.

Which batteries are the best? Can I use alkaline, lithium or any others with this camera?

Lithium is actually one of the most widely used as it contains a higher charge. As for alkaline batteries they dont hold a high charge and may cause problems with your digital camera.

I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply. Thanks.
