The fact that the icons show on first screen is not a bug. It is a configuration setting.

Just in case some keys answer to a keypress.
Press the diamond key and the HOME key to get to the HOME screen. In Home screen press the MODE key. Use the Function keys (F1,F2,F3) to move to the last page of the configuration where you find the option Apps Desktop and toggle it to OFF. Press ENTER to save.
If that does not work (because the arrow keys) do not answer, try to RESET the calculator: Press [2nd][MEM] to open memory management then press F1 key to RESET. Try ressetting all RAM.
If more keys refuse to respond then maybe you should contact TI-cares at education.ti.com

Calculator missing in my nokia 2690 phone

The inbuilt calculator should be in the organizer. It's kind of strange that the calculator is missing because you can't delete or move this application. Try a reset by typing *#7780# and the password is 12345. The other option is firmware update using a PC Suite.

Notefolio app not showing in my TI89

Transfer it to the calculator, if you have not done so already. If it has been installed, it should show on the AppsDesktop. To explore the desktop, use the arrow keys. You can also deactivate the AppsDesktop ON on the last page of the MODE, to have a list displayed when you press the Apps key. Once you find the NoteFolio app, select it and press ENTER. Here is how you proceed afterwards.

Scroll dowwn or Up to find Inequalz.
Select it and press ENTER.
A message is displayed sayin Inequal Running.
Select 2:Quit Inequal.

I accidentally press reset all and now all my apps are gone. I was wondering how I can restore it back to normal with all the default apps just like when I bought it. Please explain in step by step fashion...

Go to education.ti.com . Download all the applications you want from this page and install them on your calculator.
For that you will need a mini to Standard USB cable or a TI USB Silver cable.
The drivers for the cable have to be installed manually if the computer does not recognize the device.

  1. From the TI website (computer software) download TI connect and install it on the computer.
  2. Run TI Connect, and verify that it finds your calculator:
  3. In TI connect main window, click Screen Capture or Device Information, or Device Explorer.
  4. Once the calculator is correctly identified, drag an application downloaded from TI and drop it on the TI Connect main window.
  5. It will install on the calculator.
  6. After transferring two or three apps, stop to allow the calculator to defragment the memory space.
  7. Resume transferring applications.

The INEQUALZ application has been executed previously and it is still in memory. To recover the usual graphing, UNINSTALL the INEQUALZ application.

To do so:
  1. Press the APPS button.
  2. Scroll Up or Down till you see INEQUALZ.
  3. Highlight it and press ENTER.
  4. In the new screen that is displayed, select the OPTION to UNINSTALL the application.
  5. Go back to Y= editor to enter functions to graph or press GRAPH if functions have already been typed in.

How do i get rid of shadeRes in my window T84

You might have activated the application called Inequalz. It solves inequations. One of its feature is the shading of solution regions and the resolution of the shading is called ShadeRes. When you press the Window function key you see the ShadeRes value before the usual window dimensions.

To get rid of the Inequalz application (kick it out of memory without removing it completely from calculator)
  1. press the Apps key.
  2. Use downArrow to put focus on Inequalz and press ENTER
  3. In the new screen that is displayed "INEQUAL RUNNING" select [2:Quit Inequal].

Restore apps to TI-84 Plus

Hello,
I am always happy to polish the apple...before I eat it. (Just joking!)

All the applications that were preloaded on your calculators are available to download freely from http://education.ti.com Use the tab Download--> Apps and software. Then select software for the TI83/TI84 Family. While you are at the site download the TI Connect, if you do not have it already. The link follows.
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti_connect.html You can also download the latest OS there. (Beware: while applications and programs are compatible with the TI83 and 84, the Operating systems are not.)

Install TI connect on your computer and run it to open the main Window. Then connect you calculator to a USB port and, in the TIConnect main window Click the TIDeviceInfo icon. Software will try to retrieve the info. If it does your calculator is ready to communicate with the computer.

If it tells you Device Not found , Click communication settings in same pop up window where it said Not found, and Select Device, Select Cable (USB or TIsilver cable), Select Port (USB1) and Click OK..

If you are lucky and it works, you can reinstall the OS, which can be downloaded from education.ti.com. You drag and drop the OS on the TIconnect main window. Calculator must of course be connected to computer. To install an application already downloaded to your computer, drag it to the main window of TI Connect and drop it. Keep installing, the appilcations you want.

If you have problem with TIconnect, use the calc-to-calc cable to transfer the Apps from a working calculator. You should be on Receive mode [2nd][Link] --->>Receive. (When both calculators are ready hit enter.) The other calculator must be set to Send [2nd][Link][SEND][C:Apps]. A list of Apps appears. Scroll down the list. If you want to transmit un app you press [ENTER] when the arrow reaches its line. Once an app is selected , a small square appears on the left. After the selection, Hit transmit. I suggest you transfer Apps, one after the other. Avoid selecting them all and send them all at one go.

If you want to transfer the OS of a working calculator the sending calculator must be on [2nd][Link][SEND][SendOS]. TI83Plus OS is not compatible with TI84Plus nor TI84PLUS Silver edition OS.

In addition to the preloaded applications, you can also transfer programs the same way. For a repository of TI83PLUS/TI84PLUS and TI84+ SE, go to www.ticalc.org (or com), visit the archive section of the site.

Hope it helps.
