LM3 has clean cell, good flow and salt levels over 4500. Runs fine at 100% output but randomly brings up Add Salt light, outputs drop to amber light and requires reset to resume normal operation????

Is your filter clean? This can cause false readings on the board due to lack of flow. Start there. If you still have the same problem, take the cell in for testing. Salt cells usually last 5 years or so. But regular cleanings can extend this. They will also send false readings if they are going out. What is the reading you are supposed to have for your system? Most run best at 3000 ppm up to 3500. You said 4500? Is that the requirement for your cell?

Low salt

The salt chlorinator cell should be cleaned with a proper cell cleaning fluid. Your pool surface may coat the salt cell with calcium and unless this has been removed it will not generate chlorine efficiently no matter how much salt you add to the pool water.
When the salt cell has been cleaned properly then the amount of salt in your pool may exceed then recommended concentration and it will overload the power supply to the salt cell and the salt concentration will need to be reduced.

Pump goes into sleep mode because of low salt light. I have added 240 pounds of salt since the light came on and fell that I may be haveing other problems. Would it be normal to have to add that much salt...

No more salt for now!!!!! 1st thing you need to do is check your salt ppm.. must be around 3000ppm.. The 8110 models have issues with their cells that will continue to give you a low salt reading regardless of the salt level.. You must check the cell for calcium build up and clean.. You can soak with vinegar or as others recommend, muriatic acid to clean the cells. Pressure flush to get all the "White Flaky" stuff out.. Dirty cells WILL give you a low salt error on the unit.. If after cleaning the cells you still get this code, you may have a bad cell.. If you are just starting out and the unit is new, YES you will probably add over 300 lbs of salt to get you going and be around 3000ppm on a 14000 gallon pool... Be sure to run your pump only for 24 hrs to properly dissolve the salt and then set your cycle...
Hope this helps...

I have done everything the manual says, but my saltwater system will not stop blinking error code 91. The salt level is fine, and the cell is clean. Do I need to replace the cell. My pool is now green and...

Bummer!!! Looks like you checked both things that would cause the code 91 error for "Low Salt". Here's what I've done to solve my low salt "91 code in the past.. I overshoot by 1/2 bag = 20lbs of the recommended salt add quantity when the code appears. Calculate by using this formula..
.0067 X Pool Gallons. I have a 14,000 gallon pool and when I get the 91 code for low salt, I add about 110 lbs of salt. Manual says 93 lbs...let it circulate for 24 hours by running the pump only and then start the chlorination cycle.. Before doing this, you MUST make sure the cell in clean.. If any calcium buildup inside, it can give you a false "Low Salt" alarm.

I hope this helps!!

If this helps, please rate... Thanks

I have a 12,000 gallon abg pool Also the water is from a well system The low salt warning light came on I then cleaned the cell and reinstalled the cell only to have the High salt light come on I then...

any thing over 3500 can create alarms.

First of all make sure you are useing a test kit for salt that reads in #'s not color

your system can read low salt when it is high or even high can read low
The system only really knows something is wrong

your 7800ppm is ridiculously high

Now start draining 20% of your water at a time and refilling giving the system at least 6 hours of just filtering between drainings until you get to as close to 3000ppm as possible

under 2700ppm and you will not produce enough chlorine and can trigger alarms any higher than 3500ppm and you can trigger alarms,go cloudy, and not to mention corode any metal parts like an aluminum ladder

once you get the ppm to 3000 clean your cell one last time and you should be good to go

I would also check your water for metals since you used well water.
you may need to get a metal reducer to add to the pool

My salt water system keeps saying low salt but it has more than it is supposed to.

Whats more than it is supposed to?
The manual is only a starting point
It is up to you to tweak it

The system on occasion can read low when it is high and vise versa
the system only really knows that something is wrong

Start by using a salt test strip that read in #'s not color like the six way that probably came with the unit

you need to get it to as close to 3000ppm as possible
any lower than 2700 and you will not produce enough chlorine and could trigger alarms any higher than 3500 and you could trigger alarms, go cloudy, and start corrosion on an aluminum ladder

If you are over 3500ppm right now ( since you say you have more salt than needed ) drain 20% of pool water a re fill with fresh circulate ( filter only ) for six hours check salt and repeat if needed until you get to the 3000ppm area

once close to the 3000 clean your electro cell as discribed in the manual and try again

you should be good to go

Code 90 blinking what do I need to do?

Code 90 is supposed to be indicating there is a low or no water flow condition. I have had this happen when my filter got dirty and it's water flow was reduced and when the electrolytic cell had a lot of deposits and blocked too much of the flow.

The water flow is detected by the flow sensor. The flow sensor is contained in the tube located immediately behind the square transformer housing. It has a cord coming out of the top of it.

Make sure your water is flowing in the correct direction. It should flow in the right side of the 8110 and out the left side of it. If you detach the hose on the right side of the unit, you will see a small basket which is supposed to catch debris before it can enter you electrolytic cells. Make sure this small basket is clean. After the basket is the actual flow sensor. It has a paddle hanging down which gets deflected up as the water flows through the tube. Make sure the paddle pivots freely and does not have any kind of build-up on it. After the flow sensor is the electrolytic cell. If the space between the plates has a lot of build up you will need to clean the plates (I pressure was them).

My saltwater pool tastes very salty, but my intex saltwater pump keeps saying low salt. I have to clean the cell everyday or it will not operate properly because the cell gets covered with white buildup...

Your salt is way to high if you can taste it. You will need to dilute with fresh water until you get the salt back down and then clean the cell for continued use.
