Cycle dial doesn't advance automatically anymore. I saw some listed problems that sounded similar, but not exact. Washer will work in all cycles, but only when I watch and move the dial manually.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Its seems that the Timer is stuck, as everything else is working fine in the unit and the dial ust gets stuck and so won't complete the cycle so the problem is with the Timer motor going bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

The machine does not automatically go from one cycle to the next

You have a pitted timer most likely. First i would check out the lid switch which you may be tripping while messing with the timer. And what brand and age.

I have a GE roll around dishwasher, Model GSC3200Z03BL. It worked one night, did not work the next. After hooking intake/discharge hose to faucet and turning to start, no water is pumped in. Only a...

First off.. the pump does not let water in.. it takes water from your sink faucette via the hose and allows it to enter the DW via an inlet electrically operated valve. If that valve is not commanded by the control system to open, then no water will enter the DW and a wash cycle will not start. Please find the informaton shown below that decribes some reasons why your DW may not be filling with water. You should go thru this series of checks to make sure you've set up the DW correctly aqnd it is not in mid cycle. If by chance you are setting it up correctly and are not in mid cycle then you may have a hardware problem with the system. I would be happy to assist you if it comes to that but I am hoping that the information below will get you started,...

Dishwasher - No Water Fill

Often the cause of a dishwasher not filling at the start of its cycle is not electrical or mechanical. Often times you may be starting your dishwasher model incorrectly which results in the machine skipping its first water fill period.

There are presently three different types of starting procedures being used:

  1. Pushbutton type. This system is found on all POTSCRUBBER models.
  2. "Turn-to-start" timer type. After latching the dishwasher door, you turn the timer dial until you hear a click. By advancing the timer dial beyond that point, its possible that the first water fill would be skipped. The first fill is necessary for automatic pre-rinsing of the dishes.

View a short video about turn-to-start timers:
    Play Video
  3. The most common type is a "push-to-start" timer dial. All that is required to initiate the cycle is to push in on the timer dial. It is NOT necessary to turn the dial.
If you are unsure as to the starting procedure used by your model please consult the Owner's Manual. Download a free copy of the Owner's Manual and/or Installation Instructions.

Hope this gets you going..

I have a technika diswasher, not sure of the model, is approx 3 years old and has a big dial on the left hand side with 7 wash functuions and the power button is smaller and is on the RHS. I cant remember...

I have the same model. You just turn the dial to the setting you want, push the dial back in, turn the (right) power button on then turn the smaller start button on. I use different cycles all of the time depending on whats in the load and this works fine for me.

Asko w6221 front load washer stops after wash cycle

Do all of your cycles work when you turn them manually? If one cycle does not work when you turn the dial on it then it will be your timer (The dial assembly $100-up) If all your cycles work manually, then it could be your timer motor which is attached to your timer assembly. If you turn the dial pass the wash, on to the rinse, does the dial automaticly move (when finishng the rinse cycle)to the spin cycle? If so then your timer motor is ok. The only wires close to the bottom are the motor, but these should be high enough out of the way.
