I just need a diagram to show me how to hook the dvd/vcr up to my television. I have Dishnetwork as well. I un-hooked and now I can't get a picture.

You need an RF modulator or a modulator and a A/V switch (to avoid Daisy-chaining the game system to the DVD/VCR). These are available at many electronics shops (Radio Shack, etc.)

You need to run the cable to the vcr, and then from the vcr to the tv.

You have to be sure you are running your video source THROUGH your VCR. Just because it's on the TV doesn't mean your VCR can see it. How are you hooked up? Cable? Satellite? If you are on basic cable you have a tough problem. This VCR does not have a tuner built into it. You will have to use a television or other device that has a tuner and a "MONITOR OUT" or "VIDEO OUT" plug in the back of it. This is usually a composite, or yellow-colored cable. You will run this cable into the yellow plug in the back of the VCR that says "IN." You also need "AUDIO OUT" jacks from your television or other device. These are usually red and white cables. Plug these cables into the red and white "IN" plugs on your VCR by the yellow one. If you are using something like satellite where you have a box, you will want to plug in your satellite receiver to your VCR using the same colored cables. If you have to plug in the cables that once went to your television, you need to turn your television to the input you normally use to watch your VCR. You may need to change inputs on the VCR. You should then see your satellite or cable box on the television set. It is now running THROUGH your VCR. Hopefully, at this point, you are hooked up correctly. If you are using the "MONITOR OUT" method, you just have to have faith that it's working. If you're using the other method you can actually see it on the screen. Now tune to whatever you're trying to record and press the record button. Be advised, however, that many DVD/VCR recorders have protection detection built into them (particularly on the DVD side) and your recording may stop part-way through and tell you that "this content is protected." you don't need a code for the vcr/dvd combo to work on your tv. You need to make sure you have hooked up the cables correctly. remember that the dvd can be hooked up with the component cabels and the vhs may need to be hooked up thru the tv cable hookup.

how do you have the combo connection and dish network hooked to the tv ? if you have an s-video , yellow RCA jack video or component video hooked to the same input then it will act this way, because two inputs cannot be on the same video input # on the tv.

Connect your rabbit ears to the Insignia. Connect the Insignia to the antenna input on the "cvd/vcr combo". Now turn on the television to show the "cvd/vcr combo".

The Insignia simply goes between your antenna and your television. In your case you also have a vcr so if you want the VCR to be able to play and record digital stations you will need the Insignia between the vcr and the antenna.

Connect the "Out to TV"video and audio on the DVR box to the "Video in and Audio In" on the VCR ...unless it's a single screw type connector on the DVR then hook THAT to the "In from ANT/cable" on the VCR
