This is a very simply fix. Your problem is you have a bad thermal fuse. This fuse can be found in the Lamp housing. You need to take the back off in order to fix this problem. Replacing the thermal is not hard, but you need to be a little handy. Part number 1-910-023-93 Average cost $9.00

Sorry, I have to say it. If the bulb (LED) is shot it would have to be zero flashes :-) It's my weird sense of humour. After that I hope you'll forgive me and someone can give you some real help.

Gentlemen: Thanks for all the advice. I replaced my thermal fuse and my tv is working fine. There is one thing that was not made clear. First the fuse sets in a holder directly under the bulb. there are 2 models for this fuse. the one I had was a metal case being held down by 2 screws--this will be the toughest part. However, if you get the other type fuse which has a small black head like an RTD. then leave the other one in and just slip this one under it. You will have to remove the fan, and the fan housing, then you will see the fuse. I bought 3 of these fuses from parts.com for 30.50 including tax and shipping. So now I have the spare bulb and spare fuses.
Remember, Sony is no help, they will not even sale you a schematic. they want you to send it to the shop. 200 to 400 bucks for a $5.60 fuse.
Thanks guys.
