Question about Mitsubishi VS-5059 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi VS-5059 50 in. Proj. Televsion

My big screen mitsubishi PTV (VS-5059) occasionally flashes a red Horizontal bar across the screen. It eventually comes back to a regular picture. My guess was a problem in deflection. would this be an accurate guess or am i just wrong?

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. This should not be an expensive job at most repair shops. Could be something as simple as cracked, cold, defective solder joints around and near the vertical output chip, could be a faulty chip and other components in and around the vertical deflection circuitry, or a faulty vertical drive signal from the jungle circuits, or worst case a faulty deflection yoke. Take your television to a shop right away for a proper and safe repair. Do not keep the television looking at the red horizontal line.... you can easily damage or burn the CRT phosphors. Good luck

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. In general the picture is great from all sources (cable, component, and hdmi). However, there occasionally are very thin, horizontal lines that flicker across the screen....

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

We have a 52 inch rear projection Mitsubishi not sure of the model number and the picture is starting to go blurry with reds and greens at the bottom of the screen

Here is another similar problem with a Mitsubishi Rear Proj. TV and it has some things to try and an estimate if that is the problem.

You could also try messing around in the menu for convergence adjustments. Usually it will let you adjust at 8 points on the screen.

VERTCAL HOLD

Good Day, marvy21; try theses ideas, they will fix the TV # 3 is most common, you might start there. 1). VERTICAL ROLLING, VERTICAL BLANKING BAR LOCKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PICTURE, ALSO MAY HAVE HORIZONTAL PULLING OR TEARING. CHECK C2C52 10 UFD @ 50 V OFF THE BASE OF Q2C51 ON THE SIGNAL PCB. 2). CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.2). CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB. 3). CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi VS-45607 45" Big Screen

Good Day, Delano1981;

It may cure the problem but I would suspect the 9 Volt source
CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND
IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH
ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

This should resolve your TV"s condition.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi vs 5043

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.

Mitsubishi VS-585R

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Horizontal Lines in picture

CHECK C2P08 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P03 (3.2 VOLT REGULATOR) ON THE SIGNAL PCB. HOPE THIS HELPS!
