Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

To fix this black screen problem, change the inverter board (based on your monitor brand).

Dear sir, my lcd monitor 17"

> after getting Internet connection of my PC, that trouble came.

That probably has _NO_ affect on your LCD monitor.

You could either:
* live with the problem, spending NO money
* spend $50 to $75 for a TV/audio/video technician to try to fix it
* spend $50 to $75 to buy a used 17" LCD monitor
* spend $100 to $150 to buy a new 19" LCD monitor

Hello Sir, I am using DELL E173FP LCD monitor. My CPU absolutely fine I see initially booting thing on my monitor display then it gets black. I can hear starting sound of Windows XP, that too is fine. When...

You might need to change the screen refresh rate. Go do Control Panel> Display> Setting> Advance, choose 60 Hz. In order to make your Monitor able to display, restart the PC, press F8 on the keyboard frequently upon splashing ( 1 or 2 seconds after PC restarts). Select enable VGA mode by pressing up arrow of the keyboard> press enter. The display should look bigger, then you can start adjusting the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz

Black screen

try starting in safe mode, by pressing F8 when the computer first starts up keep pressing it, click, click, click not holding. then goto display setting in control panal, and change your monitor type, if you can't find your monitor listed use a defult 800X600 one. it sounds like your monitor is not capable of displaying the resolution xp wants to use.

Can't Fix Pincushion

If the menu is appearing then it should be able to adjust the Monitor, provided you have replaced the micro switches. Check for continuity by pressing the buttons. I don't think that there is any prolem with other components.
