I had my camera fixed. The problem was that the contact wasn't getting enough power from the battery causing it to turn on and off.

    Thanks for the help.

It's a major problem for all cameras which have lenses popping in and out. Quite often dust can be sucked in and jam the drive up. Sand from the beach is the worse problem. The most common fault is the camera has been dropped lens down from just about any height. If you're not handy it may be cheaper to sell it on Ebay as faulty and buy a new one. If you are handy or daring :-) you can often clear the problem by removing the lens assembly and using compressed air on it to blow any grit out of the way. To dismantle the actual assembly can be really asking for trouble as they can be mongrels to put back together. But if you're methodical and have a good memory you may be lucky. WARNING don't do what a neighbout did and squirt WD40 into the camera lens. In fact avoid any lubricants near cameras.

To my regret,it seems like a problem with the lens servo motor. The lens unit can become damaged if it's opened while it was in your pocket, or in its case. The power button gets pressed and the lens attempts to extend, the lens gets jammed and the servo motors is damaged. This problem should be repaired by a certified technician. Ask first for repair cost quotation. Good luck !

SOURCE: camera will not come on

When the charger blinks it indicates is either charging or trying to charge.
A solid red light indicates a bad battery.

I have charged my camera but it will not stay on when turned on

you dont have explain exactly the problem.. if the problem turn on and off istantly this is shure a lens problem and you mst change the lens. if the camera turn on one two 3 minute and than turn off its probably that the camera dont charge the batterie. if the camera dont charge you can bypass the problem. you can buy on ebay a external charger for your batterie. if you search on ebay international seller you can find charger and batterie to a very good price. its possible to find two batterie and one charger to 10 sterl. so you have new batteries and a external charger. external charger is better as charge the battery in the camera. why i is nott so difficult that the batterie explode and ruine the camera. with a external charger this is not possible why you can ruine the charger that have a low cost but not the camera. i hope that i have help you. its possible that the camera dont charge its possible that the batterie dont mantain the charge.. its possible if the camera go on and go out directly that this is a lens error.. sorry foer my english

I zoom, shuts off!

Before you arrange a repair try these steps: 1. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Turn the camera on. 2. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a no power repair with KODAK or a new cable.
