The inverse of the log function is the power function.
For log in base 10 that inverse is 10 to a power of
More generally, let b be the base of the logarithm. If y=log_b (x) then x=b^y
For your case log=log_10, to calculate the inverse you perform 10^(-2)=0.01=1/100
On calculators the log in base 10 and its inverse share the same physical key. One is accessed directly, the other is the shifted key function.

Change log base

The TI-30XA calculates logarithms to base e and base 10. You can calculate the log of x to any base b by calculating the logarithm of x and dividing it by the logarithm of b: log(x)/log(b) or ln(x)/ln(b).

To calculate the common (base 10) log of 9.01, press 9 . 0 1 LOG =
To calculate the natural (base 3) log of 9.01, press 9 . 0 1 LN =

You can calculate the log to any base by using the relationship logb(x) = log(x)/log(b) = ln(x)/ln(b). In words, the base-b logarithm of x is the logarithm of x divided by the logarithm of b.

So, to calculate the log base 3 of 18, press

How do i find the negative log on a TI-30Xa


Ex: calculate -log(15.32)
  1. Calculate the log 15.32 [LOG] [=] result 1.185258765
  2. Then press the change sign key (-) result -1.185258765
You can also try 15.32 [LOG] (-) [=]. Try to veriufy it on your calculator.
