Does it act like or sound like it wants to open? This could be a small belt drive that is broken or slipping and not letting the door open. Also theres a cam inside thats driven by a belt or worm gear that if that dosent turn then the disc clamper wont raise up and let the door open or you could have a problem with the motor drive circuit that controls the tray motor and last but not least does the eject button feel like its making contact with the little swith inside or is it a flat feeling as maybe the switch could be broken or out of alighnment with the eject switch? Anywho if you unplug the unit it woulnd hurt for you to open the unit to check the belts worm gear or eject switch but if your not handy andy then I would seek a pro for assistance. Good Luck

if you opened it as little and then it closed when you pressed the button then we know thats all ok.. HMMM ok is the laser assy all the way back to home?? i mean all the way against the spindle or turntable? If that all ok then Im guessing that the problem is in the motor servo control for the tray assy. theres a forward and a reverse ie open and close. Maybe the control ic for the motor has a bad function to it?? remeber this is a hard thing to do when I dont have the unit in front of me. Oh one more thing is there a open and close on the remote?? does that work the same?? if it does and everything is as I said such as with the laser assy postion ect ect then you most likely have what I ststed a bad motor control ic for the tray assy.. Good Luck

My dvd does not play in laptop due to digital copyright problem. what can i do to fix this? no dvd wil play

Copy-protected DVDs prohibit people from copying them, which is piracy. Copying a DVD to sell or even to give away is illegal. You can play copy-protected DVDs in a standalone DVD player or in your computer's DVD drive, as long as your computer's software is up to date. These DVDs will play the same as DVDs that are not copy protected

Press the "Eject" button on your DVD player to open the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the tray, and push the "Eject" button to close the tray. Press the "Play" button on your DVD player, and the DVD will play. b> On a DVD Drive on a Computer Press the "Eject" button on your DVD drive to eject the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the DVD drive, and push the tray in to close it. Click the "Start" tab on your computer's home screen to open the "Start" menu. Click on "My Computer" to open it. Click on the DVD drive to open the DVD. Click on "Autoplay" to play the DVD.

My dvd player is stuck on one dvd and wont let me eject, change disc, or even stop the current dvd. display reads "locked" whenever i press any buttons. can only turn on and off the device.

Hi, For some reason the disk will not play. You push the eject button over and over again, but the disk slot will not open. Here's one solution...
* 1 Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and
then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug
the DVD player...while you keep pushing EJECT button plug the DVD and turn it on (your hand still on the eject..) is should come out..
* 2 ..if it does not eject , unplug the DVD player again, Remove the screws off DVD on the sides and take off the DVD casing.
* 3 Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in
place while the DVD player reads the disk.
* 4 Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD
ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force ( gentle ! ) must be applied.
* 5 While it is open, plug it on and place a DVD disc just to see if mechanism works properly..
* 6 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put
another DVD in to test whether the player is finally working ..
Hope this helps!..

Dvd player will not eject or play dvd. It just keeps spinning and says "reading." I've tried unplugging for 2 minutes, pushing close/open and stop at the same time(hold for at least 3 seconds)....

Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray. Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.6 Jan 2013

Dvd player will not open disc, display lock

Sound like it either has one or two problems, the door is stuck and or the door eject motor has failed. Look in the front to the player for a small paperclip like hole, and use a paper clip to manual eject the and engage the loading mechanism usually located under the door for most cases. Check you manuals troubleshooting section for manually ejecting a CD..

Rca dvd\vcr locked on hello

The hello issue is most likely a faulty DVD-RW. These go out on thse models more than usual. Reset is a combination of 2 buttons. Press and hold the play and disk tray open or the power and play ( i forgot the exact sequence but you get my drift, press 2 buttons for about 10 seconds). You can also update the firmware...or atleast could before from RCA.COM but they no longer support this midel. I do have the software update on CD but it won't do any good on Hello issue. If worst comes to worst, open the player up and replace the DVD-RW drive.
