Hey, ok you say that the amp turns on but the led light does not at all, how do you know that it is definitely on? If an amp turns on but there is no sound coming out it usually turns out to be a problem in the preamp stage, if it turns on but is in protect mode there is usually a short in the output stage of the amp. But usually there will be some sort of led status, the only time you dont have this status is if your power supply has a problem in which case you will probably keep blowing fuses in the amp. If you can give me better symptoms i might be able to try and figure out what your problem is. Cheers

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Determine what its worth to you. You can get it fixed or replace with abetter amp. Might I suggest old school fosgate or lanxar. I myself own over 49 amps that were built between 1984-1995. Nothing newer and I kill it at every competetio .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

I have this amp and i can hear the fans but the power led nor the protect led comes on whats going on?

wow i posted this in the wrong section but when i turn my key into the on position i hear a humming from the amp but no leds turn on. I checked all cables and everything seems to be in working order. I even restripped my remote wire but nothing. Also i used all the connections from my old amp so i dont think that i have any poor power or ground connections.

I have had the same kind of problem, as many people said relocate your ground wire to a completely different spot. Fixed mine up straight away..

I had a similar problem, the amp came on but no sound, it turned out that the sub-woofer was turned off on my cd player. I changed the option to on and it started working.

I have same problem with the protect mode but it does it in both my vehicles. i took another amp and the led lights up only it dosent play

Your other prob could also be the led light that is a problem that i found on amps also not all the time but in some rare cases i have found that it is just like a fuse if it is bad the amp wont work but more and likely it is the preout stage or output somewere along that line

Find a better groundwire homie

Check to see if your rca and ground cable is connected good.

Well if its in protect mode what do u do? im having this problem after jumping my car. at first it didnt work then it came on for about twenty mins and never came on again. what do i do?

I've had this problem several of times, bad luck maybe, if the speakers draw to much power such as drop lower ohm or such, it fries the audio output module, this costs about 60 canadian to fix.

I've seen this before on my amp. If I unplug the rca's the led on the amp will go out. Just a little info for something I ran into.

SOURCE: Car amp problems
Be prepared, I'm going to ask a stupid question :).....
Have you tried removing both the +12V and Remote wires from the amp for a few minutes/hours and then reconnecting? It's possible the amp just needs a little "reset time" before working.

SOURCE: No out put
It sounds like the switching power supply has failed.
You need to find a local repair shop. If you don't know of any, contact the local car audio dealers to see who they use. If several recommend the same shop, they probably do good work.
If you want to try to repair it yourself, you'd have to do a bit of troubleshooting.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi everyone. I own a Performance Teknique ICBM 779. I have had this problem where my amp led power light would come on but no sound was delivered to my subs. I ohmed out all the resistors and transistors and found out that one of the transistors # K TIP35C O 310 did not have a ohmic value of 71.1-71.7 ohms between the outside leads like all the rest of them did. Thinking that it was burned out, I brought the Amp right up to the light. When the back lid is removed and your looking closely up to the light, I saw that there was one vey small long line going form that transistor down the circuit board. I realized that my amp was DROPPED ! My amp recieved enough force where it actually cracked the main circuit board. I had a headace to tracing all the circuits on the board and making sure that there was no breaks in any circuit. After soldering all the circuits back together, I put the amp all back together and powered it up. To my surprise the amp works. To everyone out there... I was not aware that my amp was ever dropped, but learned that, at one point it did recieve significant force, enought to crack the main circuit board causing my amp not to put out any power to my subs. Always inspect the circuit board after inspecting at all the transistors and resistors. You might not be aware but could find out that your amp has been Dropped.
I have an 800 watt fusion amp, and it blows the fuse immediately, even with the power off.
I have a profile 600MSX and when i started my car today then turned up the stereo, the amp died. all sound coming from my subwoofers stopped. I checked, and the green power LED was light, the red protection LED was not lit, and the LEDs ontop of the amp that used to be lit were not, and there was no sound produced. i checked all fuses, and they're fine. is there something internally such as a fuse or capacitor that could have blown?
i have and mtx amp and a power acoustiks cap. one day my system was working fine but when i looked at the cap the voltage was slowly gowing down until finally my system died. any idea of what it could be?

My amp was working fine until one day when I turned my car on the amp came on in protect mode. All the other LED lights turn on and the fan turns on, but the light on the remote bass boost knob in the front does not come on. Then the protect light turns off. All external fuses are intact, all wires are hooked up correctly, nothing caused any trauma to it. It is not putting any sound out. It is fairly old, 2 yrs +.

i have the same problem that when i connect the ground wire and the remote wire and the 12v wire and the rca wire no sound comes out of it but what i dont get is that a red light comes on and it says protect and for everything to work the light is supposed to turn green
can you help me with my problem.
My amp light is green and stays green but sub wont produce sound. I found good ground because i used a current tester. The power comes straight from my fuse box. My RCA wires are connected to sw/rear with the black end on the red and the clear end on the white. Same for input line on the amp. The remote wire is connected at the end of blue wire to the end of my head unit. The only problem might be is that inside the box the little piece used to connect the sub's wire to the place that u hook the speaker wire from the outside, so i ran speaker wire throught the hole and spliced the two together. What i might have to do is dot the same for the negative wire leading to the sub itself. Any one think this is a bad idea.
