Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50XBR800 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

My TV shuts off automatically and comes back on after the red light blinks about 28-30 times. It did this every 3-4 minutes in the last hour. It is a Sony XBR - Model # KF50-XBR800? Any idea as to problem?

First, Clean the fan on the rear of the TV with Dust off and re test, if the problem persists, replace the lamp. It's either overheating and protecting itself or the lamp is bad. Lamp should run you from 60-70 online. Hope this helps

It will be the LAMP the only last between 5,000 to 8,000 playing hours so if your not watching TV turn it off.

Time to get a new TV. I have similar problem. In my case, the set turns off, LED blinking green for about a minute or 2, then the set will turn on by itself. Something the LED started to blink yellow after blinking green and then shuts off. I can turn it back on. This happens 3 or 4 times in an hour. After that, the TV stays on for as many hours as I want until I shut it off.
And then the problem repeats everytime I turn it on from a cold start.
I have my eyes on the 50 inch Plasma from Panasonic. Bestbuy has one for 999.99.

Tv turns off on its own. power light now blinking red, tv not on

Unplug,replug,push the popwer buton couples time,see if stable green LED light,should get tv pic& suond back, not replaced the backlight video board it some how die.

Panasonic projection tv 53 inch shut down and power lite blinked 3 times. I changed both ic's and one resistor and tv come on for about 5 minutes and picture started bouncing and tv shut down and again...

Thats the 140 v error. Check the HV wire ( large Red Wire) The coinnection can cause that issue.

some component or soldering is degrading.
take out the circuit board and look for capacitors with shrinking plastic.then look for bad soldering.
if you do not know about electronics,do not mess with it there are 40000 parts in it.
