check all area for paper jam. i.e.: paper tray, ink cartridge, out put tray.

Maybe the toner is low... According to the manual, a blinking red light:

• A minor error is occurring and
the printer is waiting for the error
to be cleared. When the problem
is cleared, the printer resumes
printing.
• The toner cartridge is low. Order
a new toner cartridge. You can
temporarily improve print quality
by redistributing the toner. See
page 8.3.
• The toner is totally exhausted.
Remove the old toner cartridge
and install a new one. See page
8.4.
• The toner cartridge reached the
end of its life.

I think its the toner low light, press the orange button to print a test page with diagnosis

no, I have paper....the red-light on the top keeps blinking.....

I have used akums-razor to determine the answer.....

sol: push and hold down the orange button for 3-4 secs and wait for a print-out. It will give you the staus of the toner cartdg. MINE REPORTS A LOWWWW LEVEL. ( the orig. cartridge gives the user only about 1000 sheets and mine is around 783. This is why I think the light came on to tell me to jump in my Lexus, get down to Best Buy, and get another ( more capacity) new cartridge....

Good news solution: your toner cartridge is empty beyond any more shaking.

Bad news solution: if the toner is new AND original, the blinking light means bad fuser. It needs replacement at any Authorized Service Center.
