Suddenly my picture are blurry. Seems like nothing will focus.

I have not dropped the camera.

    Any suggestions?

Not only are my pictures all coming out blurry, but I have this little red flashing hand on the viewer. It's even there when the camera is on a table, completely still. I've checked the auto focus, the image mode. I don't know what to check next.

every time i take a picture, it comes out blurry

  • Anonymous Feb 16, 2008

I have the same problem and it is getting annoying. I got this as a Christmas present in 06 and technically speaking have only used it for a little over a year. It was working fine until recently when even if my memory stick is 1/4 used, it reports file error found with a blue screen; then the pictures taken later were blurry. And it is definitely not my batteries. What is up? Please help!

All my pics are blurry too especially indoors/evening photos. Nothing I do seems to work. Ive had it 3 years and would love to take a decent photo with it as I know it can! Pre focusing doesnt work either and the flash always goes off twice, blinding everyone. Help!

Probably a silly answer but are you prefocussing by pressing the shoot button half way down and allpwing the camera time to set it's own focus. When it looks OK press the button down fully to take the shot. Can you switch off the autofocus on your camera? Maybe you've done it by mistake. There's usually answers for out of focus comments in the troubleshooting section of your manual )if you have one) if you don't do a Google and find one to download.

Blurry picture if zoom is used ( no Sharp mage)

I'm out of practice because my camera suddenly stopped working 6 months ago, but I don't recall having a problem with blurry pictures when I used the zoom. Sometimes, it takes a few seconds for a pic to come into clear focus. I think the trick is to just keep working with it.

Some of my pictures are blurry using a cannon rebel 3. how can i fix this problem?

There are several possible causes for blurry pictures.
1) Camera motion. If everything is blurry, it's most likely because the camera moved while the picture was being taken. Make sure your shutter speed is fast enough if you're handholding the camera (longer lenses require faster shutter speed). Alternatively, put your camera on a stable surface, such as a tripod or a tabletop.
2) Subject motion. If the subject is blurry but the background is sharper, then the subject may have moved while the picture was being taken. Use a faster shutter speed. Raise the ISO if needed. There are limits, of course. If you're trying to photograph a fast-moving object in the dark, you probably won't be able to.
3) Improper focus. If the subject is blurry but something else in the picture is sharp, then the camera probably focused on the wrong object. Move the focus selector to the subject you want in focus. Alternatively, center the viewfinder on the subject, press the shutter button halfway to lock focus, then reframe and shoot.
Without any more specific information as to what and how your pictures are blurry, I'm afraid the above is all I can give you.

VIEW SCREEN IS SO BLURRY I CAN'T TELL WHAT ITS SHOWING.

Is it the viewfinder (that you hold up to your eye) or the screen that's blurry?
If the viewfinder is blurry, there should be a diopter adjustment to fix it, probably right above the rubber eye cup.
If the screen is blurry, you should take some pictures and video and view them on a computer. I they are sharp on the computer but blurry on the camera screen, there may be a problem with the screen and you may need to take it in for repair.
If the pictures are blurry on the computer as well, the camera may not be focusing properly. If you can't focus manually, or the camera can't focus when auto focus is turned on, you have good light, and aren't too close to your subject, then it may need to be serviced.

The auto-focus might be bad. Set to manual focus and see if that works. If not, then the focus motor is slipping or the motor itself is bad and cannot focus the lens properly.

Sony Cyber-shot takes lots of blurry pictures in

first thing you can do is to try reverting cam back to factory settings.to do that initialize the camera.it's under menu>setup settings>main settings1>initialize. after initializing, set cam to auto adjustment mode (green camera icon in mode dial). what to avoid when taking pictures:
1.subject too close (use macro if needed)
2.insufficient light
3.subject movement
4.camera movement (that's caused by you)
5.incorrect camera setting
5.incorrect camera operation
btw, before you take a picture, press the shutter button halfway down first to give the cam ample time to focus.you'll see a flashing green indicator on the screen that means cam is focusing.when the indicator stops blinking cam is ready for the shot.press shutter button all the way.review your picture.if still blurry, you may try changing iso (for dark or fast moving subject, note:the greater value the noisier the picture gets), metering mode and focus settings by going to the shooting menu (press menu when your in P or program mode). hope this helps.tnx:)

Out of focus

How old is the set? If picture is really very blurry, Try adjusting 'focus'. You can find this conttrol generally at the rear of the set. Otherwise,. if you know solid state electronics, Check the Focus control on the FBT. It is also possible that the CTR Base is faulty. Replacing this helps.
