Try taking your battery out and then putting back in. I don't know why but alot of times that seems to help. LOL If it doesn't then you are going to have to send it in.

Will not take a picture with flash

this URL is for the manual for your camera http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/a/finepix_av100_manual_01.pdf Page 28 explains how to toggle the flash on and off in different modes. It is easy and the explanation is short and clear. It is preferable to use a flash for fill light almost all the time so these modes are really great. However if you are in a low light setting you don't want the flash or you will get the 'snapshot' flash look. Try holding camera very steady and keeping the subject from moving too much and shoot without the flash. Once you get the hang of turning the flash on and off you won't hardly even need to look to do it....

Are you press ligthly? if press half and ligthly, it will not take the picture.

When you have using macro mode, you need to disable Flash mode.macro mode will show picture(flower) and avoid hand shake during this mode.
When you take in 10cm range in macro mode, it will take more longer time to autofoucus, you need to be freeze a while until it take the picture. The best it, try to take picture in without you inhale. it will avoid you from shage

Try using in different DIS mode when you using the flash.
In some mode, it will have twice flash. First flash it will check the condition and wait until second flash and dont move your camera.

Some condition, you will get the picture is white, it because from dust atmhospheric that we cant see. it reflective to ur flash.for the best picture, you need to try in different mode and different condition. that will make you as proffesional. this camera have many mode that you need to understand. training urself to be perfect. download manual and test your camera

Can i turn off the flash so that it does not come on each ntime i turn on the camera it is a coolpix L22

Yes, that is a good option. You know I had a similar problem. Whenever I tried to take a picture it appears too bright due to an active flash. I deactivated it, and my pictures began to look cool. Please, try deactivating your flash. Hope this helped.

Flash does not fire.

In auto If it does not fire the flash bulb or flash board in camera will need service. In auto it will fire all the time as a fill flash.

Day Light Pictures looks over exposed

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2009/05/simple-fix-for-stuck-shutter.html

For your camera (the A460) it's not possible to set the shutter to 15 seconds. Instead, set it to manual mode, turn off the flash, go to a darkened room, take the picture and open the door while the red and yellow light are flashing. Repeat until the shutter becomes unstuck. However, I must say that the chances are probably not very good to fix this with this method. And unfortunately professional repair will be too costly. If repeated tries do not work, it might be time to consider a new camera.

Can't take pictures with the flash

I would suggest returning it for one that will take pictures when the flash is turned on. Doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong, just sounds like the camera is faulty.

Casio EX-Z57 Flash not working

Try resetting your camera and see if that helps. Sometimes it does. In REC mode press menu go to setup tab go up to reset press right arrow & highlight reset press set. If that doesn't work you are probably going to have to send it in.

Pentax S4 no flash problem

Well this camera has no manual controls so it's merely compensating for the lack of available light by lowering the shutter speed. I don't think there's very much you can do about it -- maybe you can try to lower the EV -/+ setting (I forget what it's called, it makes your image darker or brighter). If the camera didn't lower the shutter speed you would simply get dark pictures where you can't see anything
