Question about iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 Monitor
First of all my Vision Master Pro 450 used to work fine but isn't the youngest any more. Nowadays I have a problem turning it on. The green power light comes on for a second, then goes black again, without the screen actually ever lighting up. If I try again immediately the green light doesn't even come on, but if I try a minute later it does again. Sometimes with the result that the monitor actually starts to work, but often the power light just goes black again. When I have the monitor working, I seem to be able to turn it off and on without any problems mostly. Until I shutdown for the night and face the same problem the next morning. It feels a bit as if there's a capacitator that needs to be charged to boot up the screen, but can only deliver the desired amount of power in some lucky cases these days, though I don't know if there's actually such a component used in turning on the screen.
I'm seeing the same problem as the original poster. that delaying the power-on helps, seems to be related to the video mode - it fails in the vga text mode the bios boots up with, but works fine with the later activated graphics mode. switching to text mode later works just fine.
the explanation with capacitors seems strange to me. i think the cause is the protection circuit in the PSU being triggered due to temporary overload (real or misdetected) when the device is cold. what the *root* cause is, i dare not speculate.

The original poster is spot on in his assumption. The small value capacitors need replacing on the PSU board. Not a nice job, but my monitor has been fine in this regard since I did it 4 years ago.

Same bug for me if the computer goes to sleep at night, it may not wake up. I finally found a way to get it working : I shutdown both computer / screen. Then, I first run the computer, wait 30s and turn on the screen. Hope it helps.

Yes, a new monitor is on order. Try hitting it on the side or top. that worked for my 17 year old monitor until it completely died.

Hi: For me it seams that the problem is on the graphic board that doesn't have enought energy to send information to the monitor. I sugest that you try another graphic board or another monitor on the same graphic board. ;) Regards
