Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WMA56 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Keeps fusing Washing machine keeps shorting the fuse. T he correct fuse is being used (13amp)and has now been replaced several times, different plug sockets where then tried and the machine worked for two months until the fuse went again. Changed fuse again and tried in a completly different socket. It went half way through a normal 40degree cycle then fused again. When it does stop working it makes a loud klonking noise that sounds like someone has thumped the side of the machine.

It seems like something is prevent tub's free movment. Try to spin the clothes tub by hand and look for a free movment. In case it doesn't move smoothly, maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub and prevent its clear spin. In this case it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump.Remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. In case it clean there, check the outer tub port- open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, try to remove the clothing through the port. Be aware you should disconnected the power cable before starting your tests !! Good luck !!!

First things first
this may sound condescending but we need to rule out the minor thing first,
ensure that there is power going to that socket by testing it with a different electrical item ...radio or whatever.
if that's ok
ok change the fuse in the washing machine plug...ensure you replace like for like in terms of the fuse will normally be 13amp but read what the fuse says.
failing that you will need to get a certified person out as I would not recommend anybody to touch the electrics were water I concerned.
Hope it's an easy fix for you, if not it may be just a loose wire to the main board in the machine of it could be more sinister like a fried board :-(

good luck hope its an easy nd quick fix

My washing machine kkeps tripping my fuse box

This is related to a fault in the main control panel, it is possible there is a short if the fuse keeps tripping off. You need to remove plug and pull out the panel to check for short in the power supply to the main control panel usually a SMPS unit. Use a multimeter to check for short, if so this must be replaced.

My washing machine is blowing my fuse!!

either the motor start capacitor on the machines motor is shorted, the motor winding itself is grounding itself out to the case and shorting or you may have a bare wire touching the metallic frame in the machine
