Unfortantly the power button on the front panel in most cases are part of the entire front part of the cabinet! In some cases you can take off the back and gently pull and slide out the chassis then you can see if it just slipped down below the switch or is it broken?? The front cabinet for this set is expensive and you probably would not want to replace it but you should be able still to use the remote control. If you dont have the remote a universal should work or you can most likely get an original replacement remote from 1-800-remotes or at http://www.remotes.com Good Luck

Back door wont open

Most common reason is a clip inside the door that connects the handle to the latches is broke. With the help of a Haynes manual from the local auto store. It is fairly simple to take off the door panel and see exactly which part is broken. I hope this helps please rate this thank you

Need Location of Part # on right front circuit board (if looking at it from the back of the tv) I just finished soldering in new IC heat-sinks on this board and set on top of TV and a cat jumped on it...

I think you will find the board for this set is not available or if it is not at a reasonable price.

Usually if a fairly small part of the board is broken off it can be repaired-----I can tell you what is involved in this type of repair if you give me some idea of how bad the damage is.

I have repaired circuit boards broken in half---once fixed they are not pretty but will work perfectly.

let me know if I can help you--I am here to help.

Ballast Lamp provide back light in DLP TV and if its bad / broken TV wont power up. If lamp is weak, dark or less bright picture will come in screen. Color wheel is responsible for colors in picture and if its broke, TV wont power up and common problem with color wheel is high pitch noise while it spins.

Red bowed lines

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.
