Re: samsung DVD/ VCR combo v4600 video wont come up
If the dvd played sound but not the video then its not the laser pickup assy for sure. if the vcr had a oicture then that means all your cables are connected correctly. Now what it sounds likje is the video switcher IC in the controller circuit or in the dvd circuit the D to A converter went south. The only way to troubl;e shoot this would be to get a service manual/schematic and a scope to trace where you lose your video. im sure you dont wanna spend 4oo bucks or more for a scope so maybe just maybe it may be worth for a reoair oerson to diagnoise the unit. Its all up to you. Good Luck

http://www.retrevo.com/pdf/308ci264/3/Feature+Summary#q=Samsung+DVD-V4600 I visited this site and could not see a sleep timer but there was a referance to auto power off. Visit and have a look at the manual and if need be download it.
how do you have the combo connection and dish network hooked to the tv ? if you have an s-video , yellow RCA jack video or component video hooked to the same input then it will act this way, because two inputs cannot be on the same video input # on the tv.
is this what is happening? or how are you connecting it?
OK I will try to explain this...You need to go from your OUT TO TV output on your cable box and split that line so you have 2 lines coming out, then you can hook one to your vcr and one directly to your tv.Then you can watch tv while you are recording something on your VCR.I hope this helps
