The Dewalt 3100 came with 2 different pumps. The Blue Cat pump and the oil free pump that was made by DeWalt.
You may just have a bad Thermal relief Valve on the unit.

You can find the parts diagram at www.allpartsinc.com

Water will not turn off

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Water Inlet Valve If the washer is overflowing and power is shut off to the washer, the water inlet valve has failed. Replace it.
Pressure Switch If the washer is overflowing the pressure switch might be defective. The pressure switch is attached to a small tube which is attached to the outer wash tub. As the water level rises the air pressure in the tube increases, once the set water level is reached the pressure switch turns off power to the water inlet valve. Check to be sure the air tube to the pressure switch is clear before replacing the switch.

Low Water Pressure from House Supply If the washer is overflowing the water pressure to the water inlet valve might be too low. The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to shut off properly. If the pressure is lower, the valve may not close fully when the power is shut off. This results in the valve leaking water into the washer and causing it to overflow.

Hi I keep getting an error message "F27" on my

F27 OVERFLOW CONDITION
If the overflow contact on the pressure switch is closed for more than 60 seconds, an Overflow Condition occurs. In an
overflow condition, the door remains locked and the drain pump runs constantly, even if PAUSE/CANCEL is pressed twice and the display is cleared. Turn off hot and cold water faucets and unplug the unit before servicing.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, water inlet value, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Check for drain pump failure.
6. Check the inlet valve for proper shut off.
7. Check the pressure switch for proper operation.

Got a Dewalt 3800 PSI Pressure Washer with 4.0 GPM with a Honda GX 390 gas engine. Tipped it up to roll it out to my truck and got a big puddle of water with what looked like Pump oil in the puddle. Can...

Could very well be. Did you check the oil level and condition of oil? If its too full or if its light brown milky, then water has entered crankcase. Pressure washer pumps cannot stand to ever let run dry. Even a little. Also excessive idling will overheat pump if it doesn't have a thermostatic relief valve that allows some more cool water to enter pump.If it doesn't have one add one. Find your PUMP mfg and model number. IF it's pumping good now and no leaks, quick replacing the seals will save big future repairs. www.pressure-washer-parts.com has lots of info on many pump manufactures. Or get some seals from dewalt.

HOTPOINT WASHER OVERFLOWS ON ALL CYCLES

Hi,
This is most likely a damaged pipe going to the low pressure sensor. This sensor determines when to turn water off by the pressure built up in a tube. If there is a damaged pipe - it wil overflow.

Turn off and disconnect machine, then remove access pannel to inspect all small bore pipes for damage. Check pressure valve for correct operation.

If it leaks at times other than filling, and water level seems ok, then it could be a damaged top or bottom seal that needs identifying and replacing.
If it leaks constantly it could equally be a damaged rubber pipe between drum and pump.
You really need to remove an access pannel - and just observe operation without putting your fingers in thereto spot it.
