Watching video clips from a camera

Hi everyone, When trying to view video clips downloaded from a digicam QuickTime opens, but in a very low resolution. A blur on screen. I can get it back to a high res through the control panel, but it doesn't keep the change and everytime I open a clip QT is back to a blur. I should mention that it used to work well before. I reinstalled QT, as well as the driver. What to do? Thanks in advance

I am trying to download my videos but only my photos are being downloaded and not my video clips. Can you tell me what I need to to please.

Get a separate card reader. Then, create a folder on your desktop. Use the cardreader to open your videos and drag and drop them into the folder. From there, you can send them to a program on your computer that will allow you to view them. If you don't have one, you can download Quicktime for free from apple.com typrice_230.jpg

Computer cannot read and play the .mp4 video files from my Sanyo XActi CMOS 1920X 1080 .Is there a software I can download from the net?

Yes.

This is what the Sanyo CG9 Users Manual has to say about viewing videos taken with the camera:

"About video clip files recorded with this camera
You can use Apple’s QuickTime to play back video clips on a computer.
Playback may be possible using other software that supports the ISO
standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

There are many ways to view mpeg-4 videos, but the one that is recommended for your camera from the CG9 support webpage is apple's quicktime available from apple here.

Black Videos

Alexanderia,

Your camera records video in "Quicktime" format. The reason you aren't getting video, is because the program you are using to watch the video cannot recognize the video.

Simply download quicktime. You can get the free version here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Choose the top option for the quicktime player, or the bottom option if you would like "itunes" with it. It's up to you.

After installing quicktime, you may need to "right click" your video and choose "open with". You can then choose "quicktime"

You should be able to see and hear your video!

My Canon G9 was working fine but now movie clips are playing correctly when viewed on the camera's LCD screen but when downloaded to my laptop the image aspect ratio is incorrect and the picture looks...

i beleive that your issue is a setting in the program you are using to view the video. the camera will never skew a video. you may want to change the aspect ratio in the camera to match your viewer, but you should at least be able to set the viewer to maintain aspect ratios on video viewing. try viewing the videos with a different program. i.e. if you are using windows media player, try it with quicktime and see what happens. good luck

This is only a partial solution, but when I download clips from my Canon camera I can hear the sound if I view the clip using Apple's QuickTime program.

Cannot view the movies I made on my camera and downloaded to my Vista PC

I assume you can view them in you camera, right? If not, the following solution will not help.

The .MOV Apple QuickTime format Panasonic uses for its camera movie clips cause problem on with viewing, as seen from several other problem posts here and the net.

Some computer use a Win 32Bit operating system, other better ones use a Win 64. It is hard to believe QuickTime would let you load a 64bit version into a 32bit OS, or vice versa. But who knows. Rather double clicking on te file name itself, open QuickTime, then go to File Open and Browse to the file and select it that was. If this doesn't work, go to QuickTime website and try their User Forums first to ask a question or find a thread talking about movie files not playing. Else, CONTACT website and ask question. Post any solution here for readers.

Not able to watch video shoots on my PC (windows XP 2000) after transferring from camera

The problem is exactly as described in the message. Windows media player will not playback files of the type .MOV unless you revert back to WMP version 6.4 (current version is WMP 11) and then install the appropriate codec which is available on this link; http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm Much easier and better way to play back files of this type you need different player software - the best being "Quicktime" which you can download for free from this link; http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html If you want a user manual for your camera go to this link; http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Nikon+L3&terms=review+manual and click where it says "download pdf" I hope this helps, please ask again if you need any help with installing quicktime, enjoy your movies :)
