Depending on the beeps, you are looking at usually memory or video card error. first step is to remove the memory from the system and place only one stick in at a time. if the unit only has one stick then you need to get a known workign stick to test with. if the known working stick works or only one of the other sticks work then check each of the slots indvidually. if you find that the unit does not boot with the memory in a specific slot, then you have a bad motherboard. if the unit boots in every slot with the good memory, then you have a bad stick. If the pc boots after pulling and reseating the memory, you got one of the rare issues of a memory stick lossening up. If nothing boots it, then you need to move on to either the video card or motherboard.

Without the exact beeps and length of each beep i could not give you more than a generalized answer.

What does reorder tone mean?

A busy tone (Busy Signal) and a reorder tone are two similar on-off repeating tones that differ in the spped that they beep on and off. Some lay terms for a reorder tone is a Fast Busy tone. Both types of tones use two different frequency tones simultaneously, 480 and 620 Hz, for the beep sound. Busy tones are a half second of tone and a half second of silence, repeated. Today's reorder tone is a quarter second of tone and a quarter second of silence repeated, twice as fast as a busy; a long time ago the cadence was a little different.

THE RED LIGHT IS ON AND BEEPS EVERY MINUTE

What motherboard do you have? If you don't know, provice make and model of your system and maybe we can find out that way. Is it one long beep? Are there any other beeps and/or a sequence. A good place to start and alot of times, depending on your bios, 1 to 3 beeps means a problem with the RAM(memory). If you have more than 1 stick, you can pull them out, restart and if the beep is the same, you've probably found your culprit. You can then insert one at a time in one of your slots, then restart. If this works, you've found a good stick. If not, try another slot and restart, etc. Try all sticks in all slots.

This issue just started this week with our Avaya 5420 phone system. When anyone in the office goes to make an outbound call, we dial the number, then receive a long silent pause and them sharp beeping...

You have a dead line somewhere. When you dial 9 it looks in a group of trunks for a call to go out on. Test the dial tone of all the lines. If that isnt it. There might be a problem in the ARS routing.

Beeping with no boot up

Beep codes mean something has gone wrong with the computer. Beep codes most likely happen for: Memory, Processor, Motherboard.

Try reseating the memory in the computer.
