Casio ex-z750. I have a problem with the zoom on this camera. You can zoom in, but when zooming out it activates the 'Best Shot' scene selection. If you press the zoom button again the scene selection dissapears, then the third push allows you to zoom out. I have 'reset' the camera to standard settings but htis did not help. Everything else works fine. Hopefuly you can suggest something. Thanks

The focus frame does not appear on the monitor screen while following conditions.
• In the Auto mode, while the following settings are configured.
- Face Detection : ON
- Effect : Make-UP
- Auto Shutter : Detect Smile
• "MF" or "∞" selected for the focus setting.
• BEST SHOT scenes that use the above settings.
Example: "4 Portrait" BEST SHOT scene

* Changing the above settings will cause the focus frame to reappear.


If your camera wont keep the memory settigns after turn off the camera, its possible that you have some problem with the internal battery and need to be replaced.

there is zoom assy adjustment out.try it with openig your set and re adjust zoom assy.if still does not work there is some part broken then need to replaced you lens assy.

I have the same problem starting a few weeks ago when taking pictures out in the cold (-8 Celsius). Viewing the pictures on the computer shows that only a third of the image is being read. The other two thirds are coming out pure white. So when zoomed out it looks overexposed, but it really is missing 2 out of 3 lines.
I haven't found any solutions on the internet. I reloaded firmware 1.02 and tried using the internal memory card to eliminate the removable memory card as a problem.
Any ideas? I love this camera and hate to throw it out.

The stabilizer is set according to the zoom level. At a set point within the camera, the image stabilizer stops working. This is normal and common in almost every brand.

Format the card using a card reader on computer and select file system as FAT

It sounds like that the shutter cable inside lens is partially broken. It moves with the lens while it zooms, so it could loose contact while stretched - when you have zoomed the lens. Z750 and Z850 have this problem with shutter cable - it breaks. The white horizontal lines are because shutter doesn't work. I'm afraid the cable will brake soon and pictures will be too bright with white horizontal lines even at normal zoom. It is considered a hard repair - the shutter part or whole lens unit has to be changed. You can contact your local Casio service center and ask the price, but it will probably be very high. I work in a Casio service center and new lens for this camera costs about 250$. It's not a good idea to put on used lens or shutter, as it will brake again sometime - it's just a matter of time. I suggest you get another camera.

yes the easiest way to fix this is to go in to setup menu and do a reset on your camera once you reset it the digital zoom should come back make sure digital zoom is turned on.

Try this. If the power stays on press menu. Go right twice, go up once, press right once, press up once and then press set. That should reset the camera. If that doesn't work then you will have to send it into repairs.

Before assuming the camera is broken, have a flip through the settings menus to make sure you haven't got the camera into some mode which is incompatible with zoom - for instance, mine won't zoom if it's in SuperMacro mode. A.
