Tv picture When turning on my mitsubishi black diamond 32"widescreen there is no sound (like tube warming up or ticking etc) and no picture comes through at all, i still have full sound.

Sounds like it could be a problem in the vertical sweep curcuit as if the vert sweep fails it blanks out the video and screen drive so the tubs dont get a line burnt into the face of the picture tube. Have this checked out by a pro as I doubt if you can do this repair unless your an electronic tech.. Good Luck

Yes.... u must adjust the screen voltage going to picture tube....located on the CRT module>>>little board connected directly to picture tube (take back off TV and you will see ) play around with screen control on the CRT module......can be adjusted at times to keep from losing picture!!! tube is bad...i know sure looks good when showing a picture....TRY adjusting screen voltage ( YES while TV is ON>>>CAREFULL ) gl

When a tv (Rear proyection) shows this coloration is the meanning that the red color is not there (the red color is generated by a red CRT). Now it can be really bad not having the tube working but before conclution make sure of this: (and if the red color gets back then the tube is ok)

is this condition the same in all inputs? or the picture looks ok with a different video source (VCR, DVD other)
are the menu letters same as the picture looks or are they fine?

If we cannot see any red color back with this testing, still chances that a technician find an electronic problem that make the tube to be off. so don't rush conclusions and get to the end to save the tv with out replacing the red tube, but if all was done and nothing then the tv needs the tube replacing.

Screen too big for mitsubishi black diamond tv

It was actually a problem with the satellite feed, not the TV. Dish Network was zoomed in, hitting the asterisk button on the dish remote fixed the problem.

You have to turn off the "automatic", so the TV will not automatically show you what it wants you to see. Then, if you select 16:9 , you will see true widescreen.
Since you cannot physically change the size or shape of your TV, the picture itself will be black on the top and bottom. Since not all programs are widescreen, sometimes the sides will be black. You can try the other sizes to see which works best for you.

blankenship, the "IK circuit" is blanking your screen, only "fix" is temporary, remove back of tv, and on rear right side (facing into the back of the set) you can see 2 philips type plastic screws mounted on the flyback transformer, one is focus the other is screen, do not adjust focus , turn screen control clockwise slowly until you get white retrace lines on screen, then turn counterclockwise until retrace lines disappear, this increases drive from tube to IK circuit, will last anywhere from 6 months to 18 months and then it`s replacement time, questions? e-mail me back. good luck, BMW Rider

Tosh widescreen ghosting vertical lines

there is no convergence adjust in a 32" tv. Convergence is done when there is more than 1 picture tube, ie; 50" projection sets have 3 tubes so convergence can go out. post the model number of your set and we can help more, BMW Rider

Isolate filament voltage from CRT,i.e. unplug Crt socket from pix tube.Measure filament voltage on CRT PCB.If present,suspect bad pix tube.If missing,solder any/all connects in filament circuit,meaning CRT board first then main PCB.

turn up your master screen control on flyback transformer. if when sceen gos black ,the timer light will be blinking. this means your picture tube is week. by turning up the screen control you may give it more time.
