SOURCE: Pioneer PDP 5030 power supply problem

Ok here's how I manage solve the problem... Having the back removed opens the contacts on the interlock switch so I guess if it powers up in this state it senses the high voltages are exposed and for safety shuts down... After this the unit will not power up and the power led flashes red continuously as described before…
After some thought it occurred to me that there may not be a problem at all, just be a simple reset function for this condition… I managed to find an easy solution to this… Just call up the hidden engineer’s service menu – On 3rd generation Pioneer Plasmas it’s as follows > Power down the screen > Hold down the “Input” and “Vol +” buttons on the front > Power the screen up and the Service menu comes up on the screen > You don't need to change anything just simply power off and from then the screen should operate as normal…It did for me so I’m well happy now!!
I hope this information will help someone else one day – Good Luck!!…Rob UK…

SOURCE: Randomly shutdown and eo1 error

There are several things that can cause it. You are best to have an expert technician come in and take some test on it in order to determine if it is from vertical blanking failure or something else. It is not easy to fix this yourself, if you have no experience, because there are a lot of parts that have to be removed before you can reach the components. It could be as simple as a loose connector ribbon or a bust capacitor, but it could also be more complicated. Hence, in my honest opinion, better get a qualified technician.

Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Pioneer Plasma TV-PDP-4270HD won't turn on. TV

Try this! There should be a power button on the bottom of the panel that has to be depressed for the television to power on. It is the main power supply button and without it there is no power going into the TV.

TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

When I turn on the unit I get a green light, but after about 5 seconds it switches to red blinking and I do not get a screen

What is the model of TV?

The Red blinking light is a Protection Error Code. Your Tv needs repair. Most common is the power or Main Unit / Logic Board.

Post your model and how many times the light blinks. Also try unplugging for about 20 min and see if it will turn on.

Some models you get lucky and its a common problum which makes for an easier diagnosis.

Tv cuts off and green light flashes

Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did.
Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!
