If you have windows operating system reinstall OS or system restore back to a date that audio sound was heard.
If you use Linux operating system, Check dependency files of alsa drivers for the kernel version number you use. Usually missing binders or failed to blacklist other symlinks.
You need to install the audio driver which often doesn't automatically re-install when reloading the operating system.
Try installing MS office from SAFE MODE. This assumes you have a full version. Some PC's are delivered with a "trial" version that self destructs a fixed time after it is installed. OFTEN it prevents re-installation of the trial version as well.
