This is usually difficult to do on modern laptops. You can try various CMOS password wipe programs but usually the password is stored in EEROM/Flash these days. You could try disconnecting the CMOS battery but it means taking apart the system. If the password protection could be easily bypassed, it wouldn't be much use would it!
There are two things to do. One is assuring you don't have any system restore filesets on the computer from dates after the original ones. Since system restore is different on each PC, that is something you will have to find.
The second thing is erasing all personal files. You can do that if you have a system restore back to factory settings that erases everything, but then for total assurance of non-recovery, you can add a disk defragger that then wipes the free space making everything previously erased non-recoverable blank space.
I doubt you can erase the hard drive unless you can enter the hard disk password. You can download the hard disk password removal program from these WEB sites, copy them to an USB memory stick and run the program on the laptop from the USB memory stick. You will need to do a reset to erase the password, this will erase all the stored information you inputted on the phone (phone numbers, pictures everything). My advice? figure out what the password is, think what would you use as a password and try it.
You can only change supervisors password in BIOS by entering blans(spacebar) to reomove that password but you cant change your windows password. For that you will have to login with a different user and then delete/change the earlier password. Other repair the OS from its original disc and make sure where you enter the passwords....Do not try to add supervisor password in BIOS, thats very deceptive....sodeep
