I've been trying to print a powerpoint presentation and I keep getting a printer error 5200. I don't see what that means in the manual. Can you help me with this? Audrey

Error 5200 is a print head temperature rise error according to the Service Manual. The suggested replacement parts are the print head and/or the logic board - Expensive. It's supposed to be accompanied by 8 alternate cycles of the orange and green lights.
Page 1-5 of the Service Manual.
excessive cleaning cycles can cause heat buildup, but it should cool between jobs with enough time.

Canon i860

Have a look at the yellow cartridge. I have had trouble with inks leaking into each other...most noticeable in the yellow. I have no solution...perhaps the printhead is a piece of ****...works well when it works.

Canon i860

Print head temperature rise [5200]

I would assume that the cleaning efforts resulted in oveheating the print heads.

Please ensure that you have sufficient ink, as ink acts as a lubricant for the heads. If you try to use them while empty it is equivalent to driving a car without oil.

Take your time..
Verify ink is in all cartridges.
Remove paper jam
let the printer cool off (heads)

Chances are the head alignment is not necessary and you are low on one of the inks...

Try this test program (Page) to isolate low colors...
