New commercial dvds in perfect condition stop on my bose this way at various times now. Sometimes I can eject the disc, put the trey back in, turn off the system, then put the disc in, turn it back on, and it will restart where it left off. My cheap DVD player works better so I hooked up a new cheap player to read discs. Does anyone know if or how to fix old tired motors? Would it solve the problem?New commercial dvds in perfect condition stop on my bose this way at various times now. I have the same problem. Have DVD's that will work just fine for the first 45 minutes then everything goes south. Regardless of the type/quality/age of the DVD. Yet, same exact dvd disc plays perfectly on 3 other DVD players. Disc is ALSO re-authored and STILL same issue persists! I get high quality sound on a system that consistantly can't deliver an entire viewing of a DVD. *sigh I have the same problem. I have the same problem-it is so frustrating! For such an expensive system, it doesn't seem right to have to hook a less expensive dvd player in the AUX--one of the reasons I purchased this was the ease of having a quality dvd/cd home theater in one package.I have the same problem-it is so frustrating! Its the format of the DVD as its written.
Nothing you can do but to have the DVD re-authored.
We had this problem with out wedding video. It runs fine on my computer but not in the Bose. We asked the videographer to reauthor the DVD explaining the problem and it works now.

Here are 3 things to try and an if all else fails at the end.
1) Make sure the TV is set to the correct Video Input to see the video from DVDs on the Bose system.
• Make sure a DVD is in the disc tray.
• If the TV is connected to the media center using the HDMI cable:
Switch from one Video Input to another and then back to the original input.
2) Turn everything off, then:
Turn on the TV and set the TV Video Input for the Bose system video.
Turn on the Bose system and press DVD.
3) Turn off both the TV and the Bose system and then:
Unplug the HDMI cable from both ends.
Disconnect the power cables from both your TV and the Bose 321 system.
Re-connect power to the TV and to the Bose 321 system.
When the Bose 321 system startup message disappears from the display,
re-connect the HDMI cable to the TV then Bose 321 system.
Turn on the TV first, then turn on the Bose 321 system.
If all the above fail then disconnect the HDMI cable that connects the TV to the Bose 321 system and reconnect the two using a Component cable, an S-Video cable, or the Composite cable provided with the system.
disc cant read the disc and will not eject the disc. I tried unplugging it and putting on and pushing eject. no good. what do you think bose 321 system...
Unfortunatley no, its not software that reads dual layer discs, its hardware. I sold Bose for 2 years and do not know of any Bose items that will read dual-alyer discs. Dr. Bose has a hard time keeping up with technology sometimes. Other than that, the 321 is a great system!
if will not read a laser lens cleaning disc , then it will need to be opened up and the laser lens will need to be cleaned manually with the cleaning solution and a cotton tip , but do it easy and dry the lens with the cotton tip
if that don't do it then the laser mechanism will need replacing
Have u tryed other disc ? if so your Bose system my have read a corrupted disc u may want to change out your IDE cable and if that doesn't work then corrupted files has made its way to one of your main broads.
I had the same problem listed; send an email to BOSE tech support - they sent me a DVD with a bios upgrade and it fixed the problem. They should put the BIOS upgrade on their website so you could burn your own DVD rather than waiting for the mail. But it did fix the problem. Netflix disks were the worst; they must do something when they burn them to get that forced Ad to play that Bose doesn't like.
I love my Bose 321 DVD system, but a few days ago, it started acting weird. I put in a DVD, and it reads - "No Disc".....and I'm not sure why. I cleaned the disc, and I also played a DVD/CD Maintenance kit - I'm not sure what is wrong. It seems like I have a problem within the system - what can I do?
DVD scenes start to move in slow motion then stop - get a msg "Cannot read disc" Happening more frequently. please advise...
