RCA MM32110 televison purchased 4 to 5 years ago.
Picture will come on then will go black. It losses green and blue color (turns red) for a second before quickly fading away. I can change channel or turn set off then on and picture will be fine.. then go black again....sometimes within seconds sometimes plays for several minutes... sound is fine when picture disappears... HAD set diagnosed and was told that the dual layer video board needed to be repaired and it would cost $550... Seems way out of line!!!!!!!!!

Re: Loose Picture (Goes completely Black)
Nothing special about that board as I cant seem to find that # but If my memory serves me correctly it sounds like a crt board and its a simple soldering job on the crt socket?? Altough Im not there to see the set still 550.00 seems like an awfull lot to repair a set even if they have to replace the entire chassis. I think you should cal rca and take it to an authorized RCA repair center and if the shop you took it to was an rca authorized center I would also report that to them(RCA). Good Luck

I'm not familiar with this set but it sounds like your blue crt has shorted out and is putting out so much color that it overwhelms the other colors. Is the picture also washed out? If so then your blue crt is bad. Probably not worth fixing. Let me know more about what the picture looks like.
Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
Question when u loose picture do u loose sound also ? If so there is an 27Mhz xtal on the (SSB) small signal board that needs to be changed when it heats up it cycles out of phase. when it cools down it will work again till it heats up.
