I know there are previous posts on this issue but they havent solved my problem. I was taking a picture and dropped the camera whilst it was still on and the lens out. Now the lens is stuck halfway out and when I power up it beeps but does nothing else and switches itself back off.
I have tried removing the battery for 24hrs then powering backup to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hi:
First of all, with that behavior, your lens are stuck. Probably the problem was on the assembly. Try to disassemble and assemble them again.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program. Just do a Google search for "photo catalog software."
Hi,
it sounds like the camera is broken and you need to send it in for repair.
If you want to copy your pictures, pull out the memory card and use an USB Card Reader to access your files.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

I have lost my cd for my optio s5i pentax camera and have a new laptop how can I get another cd or download software so I can transfer photos onto my laptop
Try taking out the batteries and re-inserting them after some time. If it doesnot work, most probably it is an hardware issue. Take it to the service center.
You can try removing the battery and leaving out overnight then putting it back and charging it up then try the power. This has worked for some people but not all.
my lens is stuck the power button doesnt work
