I bought a power adapter for the camera, but it doesn't seem to work without batteries in the unit. If I use the batteries alone, I will eventually get a red blinking light at the back of the camera, indicating low battery power, hence the purchase of a power adapter. When using both power adapter and batteries, the red light on the front of the camera is illuminated. The green light on the back of the camera is blinking. The camera seems to work fine while recording video. But why won't the power adapter work by itself?

Because the camera is what is technically known as 'Portable'and is designed to work purely from the internal battery. the Power Adapter merely charges the internal battery

SOURCE: kodak z812 is problem

I had the same issue with my same brand/model camera for months. I used it maybe twice and then it decided not to turn on, no matter what I did. I finally got in touch with Kodak (the first time they told me to try different batteries, which of course did not help). I spoke with someone who figured out that I had a faulty memory card. When I removed my memory card, I was able to turn my camera on. I had to reset my date, but once I did that (still keeping the memory card out) I was able to take pictures just fine. Give that a try and see if it helps!

Another word of advice, if turns out to be your memory card, you'll need to purchase a new one. Kodak, of course, provides troubleshooting for their brand memory cards as well. Just an FYI.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare Z760 won't charge.

The problem might be that the battery has developed memory and won't charge further. My first battery used to do that, but then I read that you shouldn't leave the camera on the dock all the time nor keep the battery fully charged all the time because of the problem of developing memory. You might try running the battery completely down by taking pictures until it shuts down. Sometimes when my battery is low the dock won't charge (but goes straight to the red light), but when I run it completely down when I put it on the dock it charges properly. I hope this information helps. :-)

My fuji finepix s5000 has lost power

see this causes and proceed . God bless you
If the camera won't turn on, check the batteries, or connect the camera to an AC adapter. If that doesn't work, remove all batteries, disconnect the AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and reconnect the adapter.
If the flash doesn't work, the camera won't take pictures, or the screen keeps turning off, check that the batteries are strong.

Hi, try removing the battery pack then use the AC adapter or power cord alone. If still the same. Eject the battery and also remove from outlet hang on for 10 minutes. Then try to turn it on again with AC adapter alone

I recommend you to buy a new battery. If this doesn't work. Just buy a new Camera, because the engine probably broke.

No power to dell d620 laptop with or without battery, looking for a possible main fuse problem, where could i find it. thanks

The you most likely have one of two things for fuses places, (1) on the motherboard at the power connectors, or (2) there could be multiple fuses (ie. one in the battery, one in the power adapter, and maybe one on the motherboard.) the latter is rare but I've seen it. It doesn't really matter though because any fuses are most likely soldered in and you'll need special tools to change them without causing more harm then good.

However, if your computer is having a problem where it just plain won't turn on (ie. hit the power button and nothing happens at all), with laptops, you could need a new computer.

There's seems to be a short where the AC adapter goes into the Laptop. Loose parts in that area of the Laptop where the adapter goes in. It won't turn on. Maybe it's the battery.

Unfortunately, this is a frequent issue with laptops. Being moved around frequently can cause the AC Adapter to pull at the DC Jack on the laptop. If it is loose, it can mean there is a broken connection within the laptop. What you can try is powering the laptop on with it plugged in and the battery removed. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend going to your local Best Buy and picking up a universal AC Adapter. If that doesn't work, you can always return it, even if opened.

Nikon Coolpix L110 camera was bought for me for Christmas 2010. Worked fine at first, but now seems to be having problems. Batteries don't last. I just bought new batteries in Feb/March this year...

You have to charge the batteries for nearly 8-10 hours. Brand new batteries also require a full recharge of 8-10 hours. Not only making sure the batteries are charged, have you changed the battery in the menu under type of batteries.
Download this manual :

Even with AC adapter plugged in player seems to only run off the battery? Why does the battery need to be fully charged if I have the adapter plugged in?

Because the power supply, is just a "Trickle Charger" for the battery, and cannot, deliver enough current to run, the entire thing, alone, only from the wall unit. If however a higher current adapter could be used, no doubt you could use it just on that. You would need a switchmode type supply, something that has same plug, polarity, plug can be "Grafted" on to a new supply, this supply needs to provide the same Voltage as written on the PSU, but with a higher Current, Amps, draw rating, say 3 - 4 Amps. Then that would operate the unit alone. Without the battery. You are meant to use two batteries, one charge and one in use, and swap them out when needed to.

Toshiba Laptop Wont Boot.

yes,if the battery doesn't charge with the ac adapter or turn on with it pluged in.it is common on comuters for the power adapter on the motherboard to go bad after a while.downfall of the laptop is that it is very hard to replace it(desktop easy because it is not built into the motherboard)you can either buy a new motherboard or a new laptop.if you got any more questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

Acer Travelmate C112TCi- Won't power on

Hi,
Remove the adapter and the battery from the laptop.
Press the power button and hold it down for 20 seconds(without the battery or adapter plugged in to it). This process is called POWER DRAIN.
Now connect only the adapter and try to turn it on.
If it starts up, there is no problem with the adapter or the laptop.
If it doesn't, it can be either the adapter or the laptop.
You will have to check it with a different adapter to confirm which one is faulty.

The second case is that the computer powers on only with the adapter.
Then you can put the battery back in and try powering it up.
If it doesn't work, try connecting the adapter too.
If still it doesn't work, its a faulty battery.

Sometimes after doing a power drain, the computer will work fine.
If you have any more issues, feel free to contact me.
