Re: tv. will not come on at all
WQell you could have had a storm pass as you were away or even a power surge and caused the set to shut down the power supply as theres always power on in these new sets as they all have a standby power supply as thats what keeps a voltage and curcuit active so the remote works. If your not a technichian I would advise you take the set into a quilifyed repair shop and get an estimate.. Good Luck

the loss of power was do to a blown fuse. could not access it through the small opening near where the power cord went in at the back of set.. carefully took the back of just far enough to access the fuse and replaced it. Working fine.
From GUEST: I found this solution in the manual and will perform this task again to see if I can get the tv will be re-recognized again. Give this a try, too.
Remote will not turn on or shut off the TV.
• You must program the converter box remote in order to control your TV power button.
• To program the remote control:
Determine if the TV is a model that can be controlled by the remote control. See "Controllable TV brands" on page 17 in the manual.
Turn on the TV.
While you press and hold TV POWER on the remote control, press CH ^ or CH v one or more times until the TV turns off. Each time you press one of these buttons, the remote control sends a manufacturer code (between 1 and 45) to the TV.
I would first suggest removing AC power to unit for several minutes in order for unit to reinittialize; other than that, check out the power supply to determine if you may have a blown primary fuse or lost one or more voltage sources.. thats where to start....
did u remember if u left ur tv on when u went out of town for one week?
well probably a blown capacitor in the power supply circuit is the one u've heard.
the symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (hor. oscillator, pre-drive, or drive circuits). supply voltages for the tuner, vif, sif, and vertical output are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you doesnt know anything about these stuffs, better bring it to a qualified service tecnhician.
