HELLO IDEAL58ST,

While printing from the USB Port sometimes slow printout/data transfer will result in slow printing of print jobs. SOLUTION: Solution After the printer is installed on the USB Port, check the description under the Ports Tab what is selected. Please refer to the figure below : I am simply making a - c00873625.jpg Using the USB/ Virtual Printer Port and DOT4/ HP Laserjet 2420, under the Port/Description Tab printer speed will be as per the standard. Whereas using the DOT4/ Generic IEEE 1284 under Port/Description Tab, Printer speed will be very slow. If DOT4/ Generic IEEE 1284 is selected by default, then you have to uninstall the USB driver from the Device manager and plug in the USB cable again. Then it will detect the printer and USB port with respect to the printer model.

THANKS.

Print slow

Ink jets print slower than other printers. I have used many printers and found that if your documents are black and white only the print is faster. The font also makes a difference. if the font is fancy it takes longer for the printer to translate.

Unable to cop

You can not use the copy feature if your printer is "printing". You can scan while other is printing simply because scanning is not using the printer's print heads. Therefore if you are printing, you can not copy at the same time.

Is your printer printing OK? So you should be able to copy as well. Press COPY button when the printer is ready. Basically, you have the Copy (Black) and Copy Color options. If you have 1 option only, pressing COPY makes you choose black or COlor using the keypad selector. Just choose any option and press OK or START.

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.

ALL functions running in super slow motion

Have you tried doing a total uninstall of the HP software, then going to the HP website and downloading and installing the PRINTER DRIVER ONLY, instead of the full software bundle.

Extremely slow copying

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
Hope this helps.
