How can i hook up a car stereo in the garage without using a car battery, and get the same juice as far as wattage and power???

Wire a 12 volt AC adapter to it. Connect the power to the positive wire, & the ground to the negative wire. If it's a low power unit a 1 amp adapter will work. If it's a high powered unit you might need a 12 volt 5-10 amp adapter designed for monitors, TVs, monitors, & some laptops. Beware some laptop AC adapters can be 16-36 volts. Make sure you use a 12 volt one, & know which wire is positive, or you'll burn it out.

Can i use any charger on s505

The Toshiba Satellite 5205 series of Notebook PC, and the S505 series model; uses an AC adapter (Charger) that produces 15 Volts DC.

http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/Toshiba,Satellite,5205,PS520U-31P1RV,Laptop,AC-Adapters.aspx

You will see AC adapters sold that show 15 to 24 Volts. (DC)

http://www.duracelldirect.com/toshiba_satellite-5205-s505_ac-adapters_laptop_ac-b20h.aspx

This is because the AC adapter (Charger) has PFC.
Power Factor Correction,

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Everything-You-Need-to-Know-About-Power-Supplies/181/2

Also I see it is just a two pin AC adapter plug, to laptop.
Center hole is Positive, outer metal cylindrical metal shell is Negative.

Go for 75 Watts or higher though, and not a 65 Watt model.

[ On the case of the AC adapter;
Input: 100 ~ 240 VAC 50-60Hz

Means it can use from 100 to 240 Volts AC, and either 50 or 60 Hertz.

Output: 15VDC 6A

Means 15 Volts DC at 6 Amp's. (Amperes)

Watch the outside dimension of the cylindrical part, and the center hole dimension. Outside cylinder may be correct, but center hole may be too small. Or vice-versa.

T23 2647 Think pad AC power adapter lost

Hi,

No. You must use a power supply that is 16 volts or that is specified to be used with the laptop.
You can find the information about the power consumption (volts and amperage) underneath the laptop. If it says 16 volts then you MUST use a 16 volt power supply.
If you try using a 19 volt power supply you run the risk of damaging the motherboard or blowing the motherboard completely.

Please i need the power adapter rating for seagate

Have you got the original power adapter?
If so the voltage details are printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter.
If the external USB Seagate hard drive houses a 31/2" drive then it requires an power adapter that provides +12 volts and +5 volts both supplying approx 2000mA of current.
If the Seagate uses a 21/2" (laptop) hard drive then it only requires +5 volts power adapter.
The only problem is the power connector to the external drive, make sure it suits the external hard drive unit and the power pins are correctly wired for the Seagate. If the polarity of the plug is incorrect lt wired (ie reverse polarity) then it could damage the USB hard drive and adapter case.

Laptop won't power up without battery, needs 135W adapter

The ASUS power adapter is below spec and it may damage the adapter because the HP is drawing 45 W more power than it can deliver and will cause it to overheat.
The 17" HP requires 18.5 or 19 volts depending upon the model of the HP laptop (check the power requirements on the label on the bottom of the laptop). If the ASUS adapter doesn't deliver this voltage, it most likely won't power up the HP laptop.
Use the power supply/adapter from the other 15" HP. If this HP's adapter has a voltage output of 19 volts and the 17" laptop requires 18.5 volts, don't worry a voltage difference of 0.5 volts, the only problem is whether the power plug will fit into the power socket of the 17" HP laptop.
