When you install Yahoo! Messenger on your computer, the program is adds itself to your computer's startup list. Each time you boot your computer, Yahoo! Messenger, and all other programs included in the list, starts automatically. Having too many programs on the list might reduce your computer's performance. To prevent Yahoo! Messenger from loading and popping up on your screen each time you boot your computer, you must remove it from the startup list. Yahoo! Messenger allows you to disable automatic startup through the program's preferences menu.
1.Open Yahoo! Messenger and log in your account.
2.Click the "Messenger" button at the top of the Yahoo! Messenger.
3.Click "Preferences" and the "Yahoo! Messenger Preferences" dialog box appears on your screen.
4.Click "General" and remove the checkmark from the box labeled "Automatically Start Yahoo! Messenger."
5.Click "Apply" and click "OK" to close the dialog box.
I hope you find it very helpful. Thanks.

WHEN CHATING I CANOT SEE WHAT I WROTE AND SAME I CANOT SEE WHAT WRITE THE OTHER PERSON

Thefirst thing to check is to make sure you have scripting enabled in InternetExplorer. Internet Explorer is integrated into Yahoo Messenger so things thatgo wrong with IE can affect Yahoo Messenger. Here is the yahoo help page aboutthat: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng... 2)In the Start Menu click on Run. Type, without the quotes, "regsvr32jscript.dll" and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type inthe Run box "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and click OK. Please note, if you are usingWindows Vista temporarily disable the User Account Control (UAC). You caneasily turn it back on. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose UserAccounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn UserAccount Control on or off. 3)If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you canupdate your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others,this is the step that has helped the most people. Exit all browser windows andchat programs including Yahoo Messenger before installing. run registry cleanerreginout cleaner to easily fix it

Have an ACER netbook. It was running very slowly. Was told that there is zero space left on the hard drive and that a system restore is required. Would you please tell me how to do this? Thanks

Hi,

I recommend you have a quick look in your documents, music & pictures folders and clean out unused/unwanted files first.

System restore is a great tool but not usually the right tool to use to free up hdd space :)

If your running on Windows I also suggest running the Disk Cleanup wizard.

Win 7 / Vista : Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.

Win XP : Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.

Once DC has analyzed the PC it will come up with a set of options. It should be safe to select the following and Click OK to continue removing them.
  1. Temporary Internet Files
  2. Recycle Bin
  3. Debug Dump files (WIN 7 / Vista)
  4. Temporary Files
Once you click OK Windows will then remove these files from your HDD freeing up some space. Its always a good idea to run Disk Defragmenter afterwards to ensure optimum performance.

Win 7 / Vista : Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter.

Win XP : Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter.

Select your primary O/S drive (usually C:) from the list and Click Defragment. Wait for the Defragementer to complete (It might take some time :) ) then restart the PC.

Hope this helps

:)

Yahoo mesenger takes too long to launch , I'm using windows 7

Not all programs are completely compatible with Windows 7 yet. When you are using the program and trying to load it for the first start up make sure that you do not have any other programs running in the background other than the ones by the system.
