I disassemled the printer to fix a roller that had broken off. After reasssembly the carriage moves all the way to its left jamming into something. Is there a process for re-aligning the carriage.
Ps. All the tips on the epson website did not work.
Thanks, gerry
I did not have the carriage guide mounted correctly. The limit switch seems to be working OK. I will post another question thank you very much, GerryI did not have the carriage guide mounted correctly. The limit switch seems to be working OK. I will post another question thank you very much, Gerry
And so the saga continues. I found a service manual on esi.com. From what I read I now need an adjustment program to adjust the" bi-d". No one has heard of this program for the 777. Can I adjust without the adjustment program? If notAnd so the saga continues. I found a service manual on esi.com. From what I read I now need an adjustment program to adjust the" bi-d". Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam, and then press OK to continue' error message Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck. Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side. Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

There is a limit switch on each side or some models its located by the cam. If you took apart the can assy then the units out of mechanical timing and you are gonna need a service manual for this. If the switch is not working on the side I myself forgot to plug back in the small plug on the curcuit board. Good Luck

Printers are made of plastics, even those expensive looking and probably some piece has weared off. My experience is that this kind of failure can't be repaired by a user vithouth the repair kit and the technical knoledge. If you don't know how - most probably - you should take your printer to an authorized Epson repair site.
If the carriage totally stuck on the right side of the printer, Unplug the printer from Power outlet.
Open the front access door. You will see the cartridges. Remove the cartridges. Check for any paper stuck in the Carriage Rod. Try to manually move the carriage 5-6 times left to right and it should move without any trouble. Put the cartridges back into the Cartridge slot and power on the printer
If the Carriage does not move manually, there could be chances the printer needs mechanical repair as its broken.
Whne turn on, printer move to left and right for checking carriage track, and measure it. If "something" block carriage moving, printer error occured. Check left side of carriage track. Did you use CISS?
I don't have an answer for you but I have the exact same problem.
I have an Epson Stylus Color 777 and I put in new cartridges (black and color) that I bought yesterday (03/05/10).
I pulled the tape off the cartridges and inserted them in their carriages. Everything works like usual except that no ink at all prints on the page. Comes out completely blank.
HI,
Try to reset it :
SSC Utility has the latest version SSC Utility 4.30... This time it can now reset the Epson Stylus CX2900... Download the latest version and Install it... Under Configuration... Select Installed Printer (EPSON Stylus CX2900 Series) Under Printer Model Select EPSON Stylus CX2800...
I hope this will help you. Link
isent this the same printer that you asked about with a problem with the carrage not working correctly after disassembly to rerplace a roller?? If it is then you ptobably have a sensor misalighned or unit still is not "timed" correctly.
