Various control lock features on differing models:

Press the end of cycle signal button for 3 seconds

OR

To reset press the DRAIN/SPIN button and hold it for 15 seconds.

OR

Press and hold the END OF CYCLE button for 15 seconds to reset the control.

OR

Press options and select for 10 secs till LOC is no longer displayed

OR

Unplug washer
Remove lower kick panel
Reach up and locate bottom of door lock switch
Grab the teardrop shaped tab
Pull gently till yall hear a click
The door will be opened

This is a common issue with Whirlpool Duet washer however; your washer needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

The problem is, there is a red lite on thaty says controls locked and it won't go off. I have tried unplugging it but the lite comes back on when I plug the washer in.

you will need to change the interface control if that is the case or if you did not try it yet there is a button on the bottom right hand corner of your control panel it says to hold down for three seconds to unlock control.

Check and replace

- Flowmeter.
- Water inlet valve

Make sure to unplug power cord before you replace the part and also make to clean drain tube and filter every year.

Press any of the buttons on the control panel to see if the buttons are operational or check to see if the "Control Locked" indicator light is lit. If the control panel is operational, you may mistakenly lock the door.

Press and hold the "End of Cycle Signal" button for approximately three seconds until the "Control Locked" indicator light shuts off.

Control Locked

Locking controls
The Control Lock prevents unintended use of the washer. You
can also use the control lock feature to prevent unintended cycle
or option changes during a cycle. When CONTROL LOCKED is
lit, all buttons are disabled. You can lock the washer while it is
operating.

To lock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds.
The CONTROL LOCKED status light glows.

To unlock the controls
Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off.

My washer is locked. I have unpluged it, pushed the control button and nothing works. I have losted my manual.

If you have a whirlpool duet, press the END OF CYCLE button (located at the far right side of the control pannel)and hold for 3 seconds. This should unlock the control pannel. It's written in tiny writing under that button as well.

take a good look and read on your control panel i don't remember which button you need to hold for 3 or 5 second to lock unlock control panel. it is also called child lock system.

What you need to do is press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Locked feature.

CONTROL LOCKED

I you push and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button on the left of the control panel for three seconds, it should unlock the control panel.
