Question about Pioneer A509R Amplifier
Its really7 a hard thing to say what the problem could be. It could be the stanby power supply. The power switch the power transformer. with out troubleshooting skills it in your best interest to seek a pro to troubleshoot this for you. You could cause alot more problems by touyching the wrong things if your not carefull. Good Luck

could be the power supply like I said but before you go any farther your gonna need to get a service manual from the dealer you got it from or its listed in your owners manual as I couldnt find that model you gave VSX804. You could look at the model # again and see if its correct as I dont have any pioneer manuals . So you get one and let me see the p[ower supply and I will be more then happy to assist you on this repair. BUT if you are a beginner in electronics And dont have any experience repair solid state electronics it will be better for you to take it to a pro to repair .

Hey techman, you are the best expert on here.
I can provide more information if you need it. The power cable and plug seem fine. There is no power whatsoever, neither the standby light or display are illuminated - it's just dead. What do you think the problem is most likely to be? In the Instruction Manual in says in some rare instance the 'protector switch' might of failed.
Thanks
what would the power supply look like?
