had exactly the same issue as you.i contacted samsung after trying everything that was suggested and they have sent me a replacement monitor within 7 days .i believe that they are aware of an issue with a chip in the monitor and are replacing like for like free of charge as long as you are still within your 3 year warranty.give them a call you have nothing to lose.

The capacitors BigTech referred to are C110 & C111, 820uf-25V Electrolytic, on the power supply board.
With minor soldering skills, you can replace them with Radio Shack in-store capacitors, Stock # 272-1032, 1000uf-50V Radial Lead Electrolytics for $1.59 each. Works great!
Four bucks and little bit of time saves the monitor.

Look for any bulging capacitors, instead of a flat top they will look "pregnant".
If you see any of those then replace them with capacitors of the same UF rating and the voltage needs to be either the same or higher.
If you dont see any bulging capacitors or burnt parts, then its got be the LCD at that point thats not staying on and the cost to replace the LCD is as much if not more then to just get another monitor.
