Says can't play the disc.  Have run a Brothers cleaning disc several times, to no avail.  Need pic instructions on cleaning the laser head.  I have the top "cover" off but can't see inside the laser head area.

Each time I try to play a DVD it works only 25% of the time, and at that, it is jerky at points. I tried to clean the lens with a Q-Tip, but I can't see it when I open the dvd-drawer. So I don't think it worked. Guess I have to take the darn thing apart...

Sounds like you need to clean the laser lens. Try using a disc cleaner first and if that dosent work then take aprt and find the laser lens, take a clean q-tip and put a little alcohol and swab the lens very carefully Good luck

My fiancee got this model for his birthday. It too stopped working on the DVD player within the year. We had to return it to get it fixed!
Check if your warranty's still valid and send it to the manufacturer. It took about two months but its been fine working since (about 21/2 years).

It's the motor that spins the disc. I opened up the back of the unit and the disc wasn't spinning. How do you get or replace this?

Wish I could. I have the 4600 combo and the VCR works fine. The DVD stopped working many months ago and just yesterday started working fine again. Worked fine for two days and then stopped, picture froze, and all I got out of it, is the picture is loading. Wont give me back my DVD nohow, so have opened the case and stole it back. Tray will not open at all. Trying some repairs, will holler if succesful

I have a samsung dvd-v4600...and when i put the dvd disc in it just keeps loading and will not load ..what do i do to fix this?

Hi,
Does it do with original DVD or copied DVD ?.
if the original one works fine but the others not, your DVD may not capable of playing copy -R/RW discs..even though your DVD specs says: Plays DVD-Video, video-mode DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, CD-R/CD-RW, MP3 CD, Kodak Picture CD, and JPEG image CDs, sometimes this happens due to bad recording of DVD .Try to use better recorded DVD or if possible use the original ones..
Thanks in advance for rating me..Regards

Samsung DVD/ VCR combo v4600 video wont come up

if the dvd played sound but not the video then its not the laser pickup assy for sure. if the vcr had a oicture then that means all your cables are connected correctly. Now what it sounds likje is the video switcher IC in the controller circuit or in the dvd circuit the D to A converter went south. The only way to troubl;e shoot this would be to get a service manual/schematic and a scope to trace where you lose your video. im sure you dont wanna spend 4oo bucks or more for a scope so maybe just maybe it may be worth for a reoair oerson to diagnoise the unit. Its all up to you. Good Luck
