Error Message My sister has owned a JVC GZ-MG20 for about 2months now.Every time she tries to download Video from camera to PC the download starts but after a short time the following message pops up.(Cannot Copy File MOVO4A.The Parameter is Incorrect)the download stops.So far she has not got any video on to her PC.The camcorder downloads the video on to my Laptop okay and onto her friends PC.But it will not download onto her pc.That message keeps coming up and stopping the download.She is getting fed up with it.Can you please help.Running Windows XP Home.Thank You.Cumbrian

techman thanks for your reply.No my sister uses the Drag and Drop method discribed in the users Manual.She has just gone on holiday for a week when she is back i will get her to try using the Software that came with the camcorder.I will let you know how she gets on.Thanks.Cumbrian

Hi I am having the same problem am dragging and dropping the files and the software is all installed correctly.

"The Parameter is incorrect"

It works fine on the laptop but not the home computer which I need it on

Are using the interface sofware that came with the camcorder??? If not try to download and see if that helps. Good Luck

That is relating to a the Harddrive that is in the camcorder. I ran into that error a few weeks ago during a repair. The unit seemed to operate ok but that error would pop up from time to time. I replaced the harddrive and the unit has been working fine. If its still under warranty, send the unit to JVC. http://www.jvc.com/support/index.jsp

No disc for my JVC Everio GZ-HD7U

You don't need the disc. Buy Corel's latest videostudio x2 for editing. To extract the video files from camera just plug into computer with USB cable and search the camera for files.

Download cd's for jvc gz-mc100

this camera doesn't come with software to transfer videos. Just plug your camera (or insert the cf card, on a card reader) and copy your videos to your pc. you can use the image import feature on windows to do the job (but don't delete the videos with your pc. If you do the camera will state a error)

HHD Error

I fixed my hdd error by connecting it to my PC while in camera mode (which still worked) versus video mode and that allowed me to browse both still and video images. Afterwards the camera hdd error cleared and I did not lose any files.

I think this was originally caused by removing the camera from my pc while folder was still open. In the future, I will stop the device using my pc before remove cable.

DOWNLOAD VIDEO TO PC

The video is .mod which is not the most common of files.

Here is the JVC site for this model, you may find some of what you need there.

Also, I use a program called Adobe Premiere which can convert the video files without any trouble at all.

You may want to install the software that came with the camera, there is a video editor and can help you with the files.
