Sounds like the ground or common has broken or cracked on the headphone jack. It shouldnt be a big deal unless its a broken Printed curcuit board or flex cable. Contact http://us.creative.com/support/custsup/a... for a sevicer near you. Good Luck

You have to have updated software on your computer to download the music. You must have received a CD containing all the requirements for Zen MP3 player.
OR
go to creative Zen site and load the necessary updated software which include the drives too
you cant increase the size of ant player so why dont you save yourself the stress if that was possible noboby would buy any hard drive again just pray it still working fine and enjoy it the way it it.
This is a VERY common problem with Zen Micros. There is a slim chance it's a break in one of the wires in your headphone lead: simply try another pair of 'phones to see if that fixes it.
It almost certainly won't, in which case your player has probably succumbed to the dreaded Loose Socket disease. The headphone socket is soldered to a circuit board in the player but it relies entirely on the solder to keep the socket in place as well as provide the necessary electrical connection. In electronics terms this is about as bodgy as you can get (BAD Creative!)
Solder is soft metal and even the small amount of sideways force that the headphone plug gets in use is enough to fracture the solder leading to the intermittent or total loss of audio that you are experiencing.
Repair is dead easy if you happen to have a soldering iron with a 1mm tip, a steady hand and you know how to take the player apart to get to it! Unfortunately in my experience it'll only be a temporary fix as sooner or later it'll come away again...
So the short answer is: you almost certainly can't fix it yourself; find an electronics techie :O)
Hi skillhe...assuming you have tried a different pair of headphones with no success, let's start by updating the Firmware for your player, and also updating the Software for your PC. Click on the URL below to download and install the appropriate updates for your player and PC OS.
