My Sony 27" TV (model KV-27TS27) has low audio level with crackling and popping noise, that intermittently changes from bad to worse. If TV has been turned on for several hours the problem improves some, but still occurs. This noise only occurs when signal is connected to the coax input. When using the RCA input jacks, the audio is perfect. I have electronic technical training but little tv experience. Thanks for any help.

Re: Sony KVTS27 audio noise and pops
Your problem is a stand-up printed curcuit pcb it has several mof those small surface mounted caps that always goes bad and the # on the part is SBX1981or SBX1981-51p its part # is 874213400 its about 11 to 15 bucks . Dont try to repair the part as the pcb is eaten up from the caps leaking all over it. Good Luck

It must be connected with the color circuit of your tv, a board connected to back end of the tube. Could be dust, cob web or carbon deposit shorting a transistor. Popping noise if loud enough can be attributed to high voltage circuit fault and picture tube.
